The not-for-profit association responsible for the AdChoices and Political Ads self-regualtory programs in Canada.
About us
The Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC) is an independent, not-for-profit association led by Canada's leading national advertising and marketing associations. We uphold a robust and credible self-regulatory program for responsible online interest-based advertising (IBA) at YourAdChoices.ca and a transparency program for election-based advertising at PoliticalAds.ca. Through our AdChoices program, we empower consumers by providing transparency and control over the targeted advertising they encounter online. The program requires participating companies to clearly communicate their data collection and use practices while offering consumers the ability to manage the types of targeted ads they see. Our mission is to provide consumers with enhanced transparency and control, to establish and enforce responsible privacy practices across the industry for relevant digital advertising, and to build the trust of consumers and other stakeholders in the marketing and advertising industry. Companies interested in joining the program and enhancing consumer trust can register at https://youradchoices.ca/en/business-registration.

Privacy Commissioner of Canada Philippe Dufresne has issued the findings in an investigation into complaints against Loblaw Companies Ltd. related to the PC Optimum Loyalty Program. The investigation found that while Loblaw had mechanisms in place for customers to request an account deletion or to raise #privacy concerns, it took an unreasonable amount of time to address the requests and also failed to respond to some privacy-related inquiries. https://lnkd.in/eSZ5Zqqp
