This week I had the opportunity to remotely shade and paint broadcast cameras for the Delray Beach Open ATP 250 tennis tournament. Over the course of 7 days, I worked on 23 matches that were distributed globally, including on Tennis TV. The setup was built by the Live Sports team, with collaboration from myself. Live Sports out of Texas is the packager for this event, and their team was onsite. This was my first experience shading remotely, and it turned out to be both challenging and very rewarding. It’s exciting to see how broadcast technology continues to evolve and open new ways to collaborate on events from anywhere.

Interesting read from SVG on NBC’s IP-based, long-distance camera workflows for the Winter Olympics. Cyanview is used in this setup to shade RF cameras over cellular links so they match the OBS cameras on the course. This is likely one of the largest cellular camera-control deployments at a single event. “All the RF cams are on CyanView with cellular dongles for shading,” says Guimond. “They are shaded to match the OBS cameras, given that OBS has about 90% of the cameras on the course. But there have been a lot of conversations about LUTs and HDR.” The system currently uses industrial cellular modems, integrated as a temporary solution while we prepare a production RIO upgrade with fully integrated modem support. Kudos to the NBC engineering team for the work behind the scenes, and thank you for trusting our solutions.
Team is looking good! Well deserved coverage of the Cortina team! https://lnkd.in/euyWAww3

We’re excited to announce the live integration of the ARRI ALEXA 35, something that’s been long overdue, but is finally here, and now officially demonstrated by ARRI. The dashboard also features dedicated ARRI views, including CDL control as well as look and texture selection, giving operators access to more image parameters not necessarily available on the RCP. You can see it live this week at BSC Expo in London.

With greater media coverage, the Summer Games can steal the spotlight from their Winter counterparts. But when it comes to implementing broadcast infrastructure, the challenge is even greater: from creating a media village in the mountains, managing equipment in sub-zero temperatures, to sourcing professionals who know how to handle a camera to capture historic moments that last only a fraction of a second, while they’re on their skis or ice skates. In short, nothing is easy at he Winter Games. In such conditions, versatility, which is at the heart of Cyanview products, can be a key asset in delivering high-quality images to viewers. We are delighted that boris salhaji & La fabrique france.tv have once again placed their trust in our products, using our RCP-J with their Modul'air fly-pack solutions for such an important sporting event. Watch the video to see their impressive deployment, and you can even catch a glimpse of our new dashboard in action! #Broadcast #RemoteProduction #ShadingOverIP #Flypack #Olympics
⸻ In a nutshell, the Games are open! In 1968 in Grenoble, ORTF broadcast the Winter Olympics in colour for the first time worldwide. In 1992 in Albertville, French public broadcaster delivered the Olympics in HD for the first time. Today, with UM3 in Paris and Exp’air / Modul’air in Milan (fly-pack solutions from @la fabrique france.tv), we are contributing to the production of the Winter Olympic Games, available on our linear channels and digital platform. True to public service values, we deliver the Games in UHD HDR WCG (HDR10+) and Dolby Atmos, with Stadium mode on channel 52. Multiple formats are handled behind the scenes—from UHD HDR 2160p50 HLG competition feeds to HD SDR and HLG productions—all processed and converted to ensure the best picture quality. Producing in UHD HDR and Atmos is not a technical indulgence, but a forward-looking choice to offer viewers a unique, premium experience. As the EBU states: produce at the highest possible quality, then adapt and distribute formats to meet today’s needs and prepare for the decades ahead. That’s exactly what we’re doing with Modul’air. Hats off to our shading operators, and a huge thank you to Yannick Olivier for his invaluable support. #flypack #broadcast #video #live #camera #publicservice #servicepublic #outsidebroadcast #OB #MiCo #Olympics #mico26
