There's a quiet over-reliance creeping into organisations: on AI, on data, on process, to solve problems that actually require human creativity. The most effective leaders know this. They understand that finding the right balance between data-driven and human-driven problem solving isn't a nice-to-have; it's a core leadership competency. Not all challenges can be effectively addressed with dashboards and decision trees. Some require a team to step back, question whether they're even solving the right problem, and generate ideas that are both practical and genuinely original. That's Creative Problem Solving ; and unlike what most people believe, it isn't a talent. It's a teachable discipline. Another cohort of our 1.5-day CPS workshop concluded today. Participants developed a creative mindset, practised problem reframing and problem statement construction, and explored ideation techniques ranging from structured brainstorming to LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® — a methodology that engages the unconscious mind through building using your hands, surfacing insights that sit beyond what most people cannot articulate in a traditional brainstorming session. Teams then prioritised ideas and built Concept Posters to communicate and test their thinking. The goal: creativity as a repeatable organisational capability, not a one-off workshop moment. A big shoutout to Vishal Kapse and Ravi Kant for facilitating another impactful cohort — consistently strong reviews reflect the quality they bring to every room. 🌐 www.ctrlx.in | 📩 info@ctrlx.in #CtrlX #CreativeProblemSolving #LEGOSeriousPlay #Innovation #ExperientialLearning #LearningAndDevelopment #CorporateTraining

Most leadership programs tell leaders what to do differently. The B❒X® Breakthrough Experience asks a harder question: Who are you being, underneath all of it? We recently conducted a session with a group of leaders Facilitated by Vishal Kapse and Suhail Paul. No slides. No frameworks on a whiteboard. Just a hands-on experience that made invisible thinking — visible. What came out of the room surprised even the participants. That's usually the sign that it worked. Curious what the B❒X® can unlock for your leadership team? Reach out — we'd love to walk you through it. #BreakthroughLeadership #LeadershipDevelopment #ExperientialLearning #MindsetTransformation #CtrlX #BOX #LDProfessionals

Are you starting with a real problem; or just brainstorming for the sake of it? When we ask this in our innovation workshops, there's usually a pause. Not because teams don't brainstorm. However, the ideas rarely progress beyond the session's end. These 7 rules change that. They originate from IDEO's original brainstorming principles — and we return to them every time. Simple. Powerful. Easy to forget under pressure. → Swipe through and see which one your team is skipping. #Innovation #DesignThinking #Brainstorming #Leadership #Workshops

Most organisations are sitting on more innovation than they realise. It is not hiding in a strategy document or a leadership offsite. It is inside the people who joined two years ago, noticed something nobody has fixed, and assumed it was not their place to say anything. This week, our facilitator Suhail Paul ran our Ideas to Impact session with a cohort of 20 participants across functions and roles. The brief was straightforward. By the end of the day, you will know how to take an idea and turn it into something the business can act on. Here is what they took away. "The How Might We tool helped transform a problem statement into actionable innovation opportunities." "Even small ideas can create meaningful impact when they are backed by clear action, collaboration, and consistency." "I did not just come up with ideas. I learned how to mould and refine them to make them worth implementing." "Fall in love with the problem. Not the idea." Twenty people. One day. A room full of ideas that now have a structure behind them. Innovation does not start with a strategy. It starts with the question your emerging talent has been sitting on and never felt safe enough to ask. If you want your people to stop sitting on good ideas and start building them — this is where it begins. #IdeaToImpact #DesignThinking #CtrlX #TalentDevelopment #GCC #Innovation #Intrapreneurship #EmergingLeaders

Most teams are built to solve problems fast. Very few are trained to question whether they're solving the right one. That's the gap we keep encountering in our Design Thinking workshops and the one that creates the most value when it finally opens up. Proud of the work our team put into this session. The moment a cross-functional leadership group pauses mid-execution and asks "wait, is this even the right problem?" that's when the real work begins. If your team is ready to ask better questions before jumping to solutions, let's talk.
Teams are getting faster at solving the wrong problems! Most teams are exceptionally good at problem solving. They move fast, execute well, optimise relentlessly, and deliver efficiently. They do the thing right. What most organisations are not trained to do is pause long enough to ask: “Are we solving the right problem in the first place?” That is the gap Design Thinking was built to address. Problem solving is where most organisations live. It is rewarded, measured, and celebrated. Entire management systems are designed around efficiency and execution. Problem finding is different. It is slower. Messier. More uncomfortable. Because it requires you to challenge the brief before acting on it. To look beyond the requirement and understand the latent needs. To ask whether the problem handed to you is actually worth solving. And that distinction matters far more than most teams realise. The most expensive decisions are often not the ones that fail in execution, but the ones that were never questioned at the start We recently facilitated a full-day Design Thinking workshop with a cross-functional leadership team from Operations, sales, engineering, and R&D They engaged with customer they believed they already understood. About twenty minutes into an empathy conversation, one participant said: “We’ve been solving the wrong problem.” That single realization made the entire workshop worth every hour invested in the program. Value creation comes from finding the right problem. Value capture comes from solving it well. Most organisations are very good at only one half of that equation. What has your team struggled with more, problem solving or problem finding? #DesignThinking #Innovation #HumanCentredDesign #Leadership #CtrlX

One global workforce. Over 100,000 employees. Two closely related functional groups that couldn't quite find a shared language. Before they could align, they had to be trained. And before they could be trained, someone had to ask a harder question: Are we actually reaching people, or just putting them through a process? That question is more common than we think. Most large-scale training programs focus on coverage. How many people attended? How many modules were completed? What the survey scores said on Friday afternoon. What they struggle to solve for is something quieter — a genuine mindset shift. The kind that actually changes how someone shows up on Monday morning. This is where the B❒X® Breakthrough Experience comes in. It's not a workshop in the traditional sense. There are no workbooks, no slides, no prescriptions. Instead, participants build something physical — a B❒X® — on which they write, draw, wear and share. It sounds simple. But what it does is remarkable. It makes the invisible visible. It moves thinking from unconscious habit to conscious choice. And it turns what often feels impossible — real personal change at scale — into something genuinely actionable. What struck us most about working with this experience is how it scales without losing depth. From a single coaching conversation to a 1,000-person kickoff — the tool stays the same. The insight stays real. Because change, as we've come to believe, is a door that must be opened from the inside... 💡 No amount of training creates that. But the right experience can. If this resonates with a challenge you're navigating, aligning teams, onboarding at scale, or simply making L&D feel less like a checkbox — I am happy to share more about how the B❒X® Breakthrough Experience works in practice. #leadershipdevelopment #mindset #Workshops

Amazon invested $1 billion into an Industrial Innovation Fund — not to generate ideas, but to systematically build innovation into the DNA of their operations. The results? → Inventory stored 75% faster with their Sequoia robotics system → Workplace incident rates 15-18% lower at robotics-enabled sites → 750,000 robots deployed — and yet, more jobs created, not fewer → Over 700 new skilled role categories that didn't even exist before That's not luck. That's what happens when innovation is treated as a structured discipline — not a one-off event. The lesson from Amazon isn't about robots or budgets. It's about intentionality — building innovation as an organisational capability, not leaving it to chance. As part of our ongoing learning partnership with one of India's largest #Fintech Solutions #GCC, yesterday, we wrapped up another cohort of our Strategic Foundations of Innovation program. Here's what participants walked away with: ✦ A structured approach to innovation — a repeatable process that works inside real organisations, not just on whiteboards ✦ The ability to identify and frame innovation challenges with precision — because the right problem statement is half the solution ✦ Hands-on practice with proven ideation techniques that go far beyond the classic sticky-note brainstorm ✦ Real experience in rapid prototyping and validation — testing before committing, learning before scaling ✦ Practical tools to break through organisational barriers and build a culture where innovation actually moves forward Amazon didn't become an innovation powerhouse overnight. They built the system first. 🎯 A huge thank you to our brilliant facilitators Vishal Kapse and Ravi Kant for bringing their expertise, energy, and depth to every session #StrategicInnovation #InnovationTraining #DesignThinking #LeadershipDevelopment #LearningAndDevelopment

When Satya Nadella took over Microsoft, the challenge wasn’t capability, it was culture. Teams were smart. But they weren’t listening. They weren’t collaborating. They weren’t learning. So Nadella made a simple shift: 👉 From “know-it-all” to “learn-it-all” And at the core of that shift? Emotional Intelligence. Leaders were expected to: Listen deeply Stay open to feedback Manage reactions in high-stakes moments The result: 📈 Faster innovation 📈 Stronger collaboration 📈 A complete cultural turnaround 🔍 What This Means Emotional Intelligence isn’t a soft skill. It’s what determines whether: Ideas get heard Teams stay aligned Decisions actually move forward Because when emotions aren’t managed, performance suffers. In most organizations, leaders understand EI, but struggle to apply it. That’s where real transformation happens. At CtrlX, we focus on: ✔ Self-awareness in real scenarios ✔ Regulation under pressure ✔ Empathy in decision-making ✔ Communication that builds trust Because leadership impact isn’t just about what you know, it’s about how you show up in critical moments. What’s harder in your organization right now — solving problems, or managing the conversations around them? #emotionalintelligence #Learninganddevelopement #leadershipDevelopment #GCC

Why Most Innovation Efforts Fail (And What Leaders Can Do About It) A recent article from Itonics highlighted the 10 biggest challenges in innovation management—and honestly, most organizations are facing at least 3–5 of them right now. From our experience working with transformation leaders, the most critical ones are: 👉 Lack of clear innovation strategy 👉 Siloed teams and poor collaboration 👉 Difficulty in prioritizing the right ideas 👉 Resistance to change across the organization But here’s the reality: Innovation doesn’t fail because of lack of ideas. It fails because of lack of structure, alignment, and execution. At CtrlX, we’ve seen organizations unlock breakthrough results when they: ✔ Align innovation with business strategy ✔ Build cross-functional collaboration systems ✔ Use structured frameworks (Design Thinking, Lean, Agile) ✔ Create a culture where experimentation is safe One practical tip: Start by creating a clear innovation pipeline—from idea capture → evaluation → prototyping → scaling. Without this, even great ideas go nowhere. Question for leaders: What’s the biggest barrier to innovation in your organization today? Article link: https://lnkd.in/gpCxH3CZ
