Frisco, Texas has become a ground zero of hate against Indian-Americans. Our executive director Raqib Naik spoke with The Dallas Morning News about how this rhetoric is rooted in the great replacement theory and how the rise in anti-Indian hate coincides with a separate rise in Islamophobia, in the state. “This has been going on for some time in the fringe space, but we’ve seen it coming into the mainstream,” Naik said. “In the digital economy, these influencers know that bashing Indians and promoting bigotry gets you clicks and attention.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/g2GSYG6D

The Center for the Study of Organized Hate (CSOH) today released "Manufacturing the Muslim Threat," a new report that documents a sustained and coordinated campaign of anti-Muslim bigotry by Republican elected officials spanning social media, legislation, and formal congressional infrastructure. Between February 2025 and March 2026, 46 Republican elected officials published 1,111 posts targeting Muslim Americans with bigotry and conspiracy theories. Eight pieces of Sharia-related legislation were introduced across both chambers of Congress, sponsored or co-sponsored by 48 Republican lawmakers. The Sharia-Free America Caucus, launched in December 2025, grew to 62 members by early April 2026. In total, 89 Republican elected officials participated in at least one track of the campaign: social media, legislation, or caucus membership. Applying the Dangerous Speech framework, many posts satisfy all five criteria for speech likely to inspire violence. Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/g_g8jpqG

Last month, US courts held Meta and Alphabet accountable for platform harms — $375M against Meta in New Mexico for concealing child exploitation risks, and $6M against Meta and YouTube in Los Angeles for addictive design that harmed a minor’s mental health. The real question is how these rulings will be borrowed, repurposed, and enforced beyond the US. ✍️ Hija Kamran Read more: https://lnkd.in/gMcyUtKb #meta #youtube #instagram #platformaccountability
