  • 🤖 AI won't replace corporate reporting professionals. But it will change how they work. The Financial Reporting Council's latest research suggests AI adoption in corporate reporting is accelerating, but not replacing human judgement. That's exactly what we'd expect. Corporate reporting demands accuracy, transparency and trust. AI can help organisations analyse, validate and process information more efficiently but the quality of the output will always depend on the quality of the underlying data. At CoreFiling, we've long believed that structured digital reporting provides the foundation for better automation, better analysis and now, better AI: https://lnkd.in/dgEwRmbr AI may be changing reporting. Trusted data remains the constant. #AI #XBRL #DigitalReporting #CorporateReporting #RegTech #DataQuality

  • 📣 FASB seeks feedback on proposed taxonomy updates for hedge accounting The US Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) has published proposed GAAP Taxonomy Improvements linked to its latest hedge accounting proposals, with comments open until 17 August 2026. The proposed changes support targeted improvements to accounting for interest rate risk hedging and net investment hedging, helping digital reporting better reflect the economics of risk management activities. At CoreFiling, we are paying close attention to developments such as these. Changes to accounting standards increasingly need to be reflected in digital taxonomies, ensuring that structured data remains aligned with evolving reporting requirements and continues to deliver high quality, comparable information to regulators, investors and other stakeholders. As financial reporting becomes more data-driven, the connection between accounting standard setting and digital reporting is more important than ever. Consultations like this provide an opportunity for preparers, software providers and the wider reporting community to help shape how new disclosures are represented in XBRL. #XBRL #DigitalReporting #FASB #Taxonomy #FinancialReporting #RegTech #StructuredData

🔴 Thank You, ITCG – Six Incredible Years of Learning and Contribution 🔴 After six years as a member of the IFRS Foundation Taxonomy Consultative Group (ITCG), it is time for me to step down and give others the opportunity to benefit from this unique experience, having reached the maximum term allowed for membership. Being part of the ITCG has been an incredible privilege. I had the opportunity to contribute my knowledge and experience in XBRL, digital reporting, and taxonomy development, while also learning from an exceptional group of experts representing different jurisdictions, disciplines and perspectives from around the world. The quality of the discussions and the collective commitment to improving digital reporting made every meeting worthwhile. I am also grateful to CoreFiling for supporting and encouraging my participation over these six years. Opportunities like this require an organisation that values collaboration, standards development, and engagement with the wider reporting community. I have been fortunate to have that support throughout my time on the ITCG. I would like to sincerely thank my fellow ITCG members, past and present, as well as the fantastic IFRS Taxonomy team. Your expertise, professionalism, and dedication have made these six years both rewarding and memorable. I will certainly miss working so closely with such a talented group. While my term on the ITCG is ending, my involvement with the IFRS Foundation and International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) Taxonomies is not. These taxonomies remain close to both my work and my heart and I look forward to continuing to follow and contribute to their evolution in the years ahead. I wish the ITCG, its future members, and the IFRS Taxonomy team every success. And who knows... perhaps one day I will have the opportunity to join this remarkable group again. 🙏 Thank you for an unforgettable six years. #ITCG #IFRSTaxonomy #ISSB #XBRL #DigitalReporting #FinancialReporting #SustainabilityReporting #DataStandards #RegTech #DigitalTransformation

  • 🌍 Digital-first sustainability reporting in practice Congratulations to Dr. Jekaterina Novicka on the publication of their new research exploring the relationship between information governance, big data analytics and sustainable business performance. We're particularly pleased to see that the research includes the early application of the ESRS XBRL Taxonomy from EFRAG, with tagging performed using Seahorse from CoreFiling, and is based on the first three CSRD-compliant sustainability reports published by listed companies in Latvia. Working alongside our partner Orients, this project demonstrates the value of taking a digital-first approach to sustainability reporting. One of the study's key findings was that organisations familiar with iXBRL financial reporting still faced challenges when applying the ESRS XBRL Taxonomy for sustainability disclosures. The research found that a lack of structured, taxonomy-driven preparation can lead to reduced granularity, inconsistent data structures and lower comparability of sustainability information. As CSRD adoption grows across Europe, high-quality data governance and digital reporting processes will become just as important as the narrative disclosures themselves. 📖 Read the article: https://lnkd.in/e2H7ctBK 📩 Interested in learning how Seahorse can support ESRS, CSRD and sustainability reporting programmes? • 🇺🇸 FDTA, AI and the case for structured data XBRL US, Inc. has welcomed the final FDTA Joint Standards as a major step toward more interoperable, transparent and efficient regulatory reporting across nine U.S. federal agencies, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the FHFA OIG, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and U.S. Department of the Treasury. The message is clear: machine readable data requires more than a file format. It needs a semantic model that delivers consistent definitions, validation and comparability. The statement also highlights something we hear increasingly often: AI is only as good as the data behind it. Structured, standardised XBRL data provides the context that helps make analytics and AI more accurate, scalable and trustworthy. At CoreFiling, we've been helping regulators, tax authorities, central banks and registries build that foundation for years. From taxonomy development and digital reporting frameworks to data collection and analytics, we're helping organisations turn reporting obligations into usable, high quality data. 📩 Want to explore how structured data can support your reporting or data collection programme? • 🌍 A practical blueprint for digital reporting done right XBRL International, Inc. has just released the XBRL Playbook and it is one of the most useful, hands-on resources we have seen for anyone involved in designing or running data collection programmes. It moves the conversation beyond theory and into execution. Covering everything from stakeholder engagement and taxonomy design to validation, adoption and long-term sustainability, it reflects real lessons learned from implementations around the world. The focus on the filer journey and usability is particularly strong, something that continues to be a critical success factor for regulators. At CoreFiling, this is exactly the space we operate in every day. Supporting regulators, central banks and exchanges across different jurisdictions has given us a front-row view of many of the challenges and trade-offs highlighted in the Playbook. From taxonomy modelling and validation rules to filer experience and scalable submission platforms, these are problems we have been solving in practice. If you are exploring a new digital reporting initiative or reviewing your current approach, this is a great moment to align with emerging best practice and compare notes with those who have been through it. Feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss how these ideas translate into real implementations: https://lnkd.in/dgEwRmbr #XBRL #DigitalReporting #RegTech #DataCollection #ESGReporting #FinancialReporting #iXBRL

  • IFRS opens consultation on Taxonomy 2025 updates 📊 The IFRS Foundation has announced a proposed update to the IFRS Accounting Taxonomy 2025, with a clear focus on improving how narrative disclosures are structured and understood in digital reporting. The proposal introduces refinements to text and text block elements, aiming to better categorise their use, streamline existing narrative components, and improve clarity across the taxonomy. With the consultation open until 7 September 2026, this is an important opportunity for the community to help shape the evolution of digital financial reporting and ensure narrative data is more consistent, comparable, and decision useful. At CoreFiling, we welcome this continued focus on narrative disclosures. The proposed update is already available within our tools, enabling clients and partners to explore the changes, assess their impact and contribute informed feedback to the consultation. If you are planning to respond, now is a great time to test the proposals in practice and ensure your perspective is reflected in the future direction of the IFRS Taxonomy: https://lnkd.in/dgEwRmbr #IFRS #XBRL #DigitalReporting #Taxonomy #iXBRL #FinancialReporting #RegTech

  • 🇳🇱 Connecting the XBRL community in the Netherlands Last week, Jon Siddle and Louise Bancroft-Hall were back in the Netherlands for the annual Stichting XBRL Nederland Summer Gathering. As always, this event brought together a great mix of people from across the XBRL ecosystem to exchange ideas on data, reporting and innovation. What makes it special is the atmosphere informal, collaborative and just the right setting to strengthen connections over good conversations and a glass of wine. It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones, all sharing a common focus on improving digital reporting. At CoreFiling, we value these moments to listen, learn and contribute. They also reinforce the work we’re doing with organisations such as Kamer van Koophandel, where the focus on high quality structured data and efficient data collection continues to evolve. Supporting these initiatives with robust XBRL solutions remains a key part of how we help drive better reporting outcomes: https://lnkd.in/dGaNbPfD Looking forward to the next one already. #XBRL #DigitalReporting #DataInnovation #KvK #CorporateReporting #RegTech #Netherlands
