This past weekend, CodeBox sponsored Poly Prompt, a hackathon cohosted with OpenAI & CSAI Cal Poly Teams with CodeBox developers took both first AND second place!! Here's a little bit about each project: First Place: "We built GURT (Generative Uni Revision Tool), an Al-powered academic copilot that syncs Canvas materials into a RAG-based chatbot with grounded citations, generates flashcards and practice exams, and integrates with GCal & Chrome. We deployed a full AWS serverless stack (API Gateway, Lambda, S3, Knowledge Bases, DynamoDB, CloudFront) and delivered a demo in 40 hours!" Built for computer science students who struggle, not with knowledge, but with communicating it effectively, Starly simulates realistic CS-style interviews and provides detailed feedback on both answers and delivery. Using real-time speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and facial recognition technology, it evaluates technical clarity, confidence, and personability to mirror real human interaction. The result is a highly immersive, human-like interview experience that helps students understand exactly where they excel and where they need to improve."
