From communication lines to essential utilities, precision and accuracy are key to preventing disruptions and ensuring safety. There’s nothing more exciting than working in a fast-paced, high-security environment where every mark we place contributes to safer excavation, smarter planning, and uninterrupted service. • April marks Dig Safe Month, and we were proud to take part in the Dig Safe declaration flag raising ceremony with the City of North Bay alongside Mayor Peter Chirico. Following the Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance (ORCGA) Dig Safe excavator meeting, it was great to connect with industry partners including Enbridge, TC Energy, and LineStar Utility Supply. Events like this reinforce the importance of safe digging practices, proper utility locates, and strong collaboration across our industry. Preventing damage to underground infrastructure starts with awareness—and continues with every shovel in the ground. Let’s keep safety top of mind this season. #DigSafeMonth #UtilitySafety #ORCGA #DamagePrevention #NorthBay #SafeExcavation

  • Changing weather patterns are driving more frequent freeze–thaw cycles, heavier snowfall events, and increased strain on infrastructure across Northern Ontario and beyond. As engineers, constructors, and utility professionals, it’s a reminder that adaptation matters. Designing for resilience is no longer optional—it’s essential. Let’s continue building systems that can withstand the conditions of today and the uncertainties of tomorrow.
