What happens when you bring a group of Scandinavians to Toronto? You get an incredible summer! 🇨🇦
This July, I got the chance, as one of five from Aller’s agency to join The Creative School Summer Program at TorontoMetropolitan University. Three intense and inspiring weeks exploring where digital media is headed, all thanks to the Aller Foundation.
As a social media advisor, my work usually revolves around grabbing attention, engagement, and telling stories that connect. This experience reminded me that content can be so much more!
Three reflections I’m taking with me:
✨ Print isn’t dead, it just has a new purpose. Nicola Hamilton RGD reminded us that print can offer something digital often can’t. It gives us a chance to slow down, hold something real, and really take in the message.
📚 Digital publishing needs more play. With Diana Varma we explored how digital tools like audio can be used in more creative ways, always thinking about how to make things better for the one consuming the content.
🎯 Interaction design can turn content to something memorable. Rob Blain had a crash course in interaction design (including his own escape room! and my team passed it 😉). He reminded us that great interaction design isn’t just about looks, it’s about understanding people’s needs, solving the right problems, and creating experiences that stick.
Huge thanks to Sadia Kamran for the warm welcome, and to Jesper Jungersen and Kjetil Botten Skogly for making this opportunity possible.
A massive shoutout to the incredible group I got to share this experience with. You made every moment memorable. It wouldn’t have been the same without you 🫶
Three weeks, countless conversations, a camera roll in need of a deep clean, a bit of jetlag but most of all and a head full of new ideas!
