☕ 𝐀 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐛𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 Recently, we started with the functional analysis for our new R&D project. A crucial step that translates an initial idea into a clear blueprint for a future e-commerce platform. At Blastic, our role was to turn the briefing into a 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 for a coffee webshop. That means thinking through every part of the experience: • How customers discover products • How subscriptions or rewards could work • How the shopping cart and checkout should flow • How accounts, payments and data insights fit into the bigger picture 🤔 The challenge? At this early stage there was no design yet, and multiple stakeholders had different ideas and budget expectations. Our task was to structure those ideas, remove ambiguity and make sure there are 𝗻𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. By breaking the platform down into clear building blocks first, we created a 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 that both designers and developers can build on. 💡 The result: a comprehensive functional blueprint that clearly explains 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆, aligning everyone before the next phase begins.
