This study from Mayo Clinic highlights that falls in the Hospital at Home setting occur at rates similar to brick and mortar inpatient episodes of acute care. With that said, because falls are an important metric tracked in hospitals, patient safety is paramount when the critical care unit is up to to 30 minutes away, making the ability to detect falls in the Hospital at Home setting essential for mitigating risk. Health systems like AdventHealth, St. Luke's Health System (Kansas City), Lee Health, VCU Health, Orlando Health, Wellstar Health System, UF Health, and others are leveraging wearables and cellular-enabled sensors with bi-directional communication to maintain continuous visibility into these indicators. 📖 Read the full study here: https://bit.ly/46I7Hn5 🗓️ Schedule some time to meet with us at HLTH to learn more: https://lnkd.in/ev8XheSu

Orlando Health's Hospital At Home program, powered by Biofourmis, brings hospital-level care to patients like Sonja in the comfort of their own homes. Innovative care models like Hospital at Home are shaping the future of healthcare. We’re urging Congress to extend the CMS waiver so patients can continue receiving care where they want it most. For Sonja, being at home meant staying with her children as a single mom while continuing her recovery. From medications and IV fluids to labs, imaging, and consultations, she received the same high-quality care she would in the hospital. “Most patients say being at home helps them recover faster,” Sonja shared—and her outcomes prove it. Thanks to Orlando Health and Linda Fitzpatrick, home-based care is now a reality in Central Florida.

🚨 New publication from Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center and some phenomenal work from Lauren Williams Hopkins and Matthew Lyon, highlighting a 3.3 day LOS reduction PLUS fewer readmissions in the Virtual Care at Home cohort tackling BOTH sides of the inpatient capacity coin. "Retrospective cohort study comparing standard inpatient care with the CaH program, which features telemedicine support and continuous monitoring provided by nurses, paramedics, and physicians after early hospital discharge. This program prioritizes patients at higher risk for readmission." Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eqwU-AAe #biofourmis #hospitalcareathome #capacitymanagement #timelydischarge
