Founded by a decorated WWI Kiwi serviceman, Beca is today a proud employer of military veterans and reservists across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. Driven by our purpose to make everyday better, they work amongst our 4,000 people, supporting clients in diverse industries including energy, food & beverage, transport and water. Many of them continue to serve their nation in civilian clothing by working on projects for various Defence and National Security agencies.  From successfully transitioning to civilian life, to the advice they’d share with other veterans and reservists considering the move, we’re proud to share their stories of service.  Read more > https://lnkd.in/ez99eBNt #Veterans #Reservists #VeteranEmployment #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter

Growing up in Kentucky, Charlie McBroom didn't always see himself becoming an engineer. "I wanted to be a Disney animator... I even considered going into jazz." Now Manager of our Northern Civil Structures team, Charlie is a bridge engineer at heart. He leads a large team while still staying close to the technical work. "Engineering, if you boil it down, is about serving communities." He's also really passionate about helping young engineers understand what the role actually means. Outside of work, Charlie and his family have been enjoying learning the Kiwi way of life together. Read the full chat here > https://lnkd.in/ebsTwY9G #CareerStories #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter

Project manager Genevieve Steel shares her life beyond the office - from growing veggies (despite possums) to her groodle George’s lack of guard dog skills, and the pride she feels seeing her work make a real-world impact. Genevieve’s transition from military service to major infrastructure projects is one example of the remarkable people we have on board making everyday better alongside our clients. #ProjectManager #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter

Landslides are becoming an all-too-frequent part of the conversation in Aotearoa New Zealand, especially after major weather events. For our geotechnical team, responding to calls for help when roads and other infrastructure are affected by landslides is part of the job. We provide advice that helps local government and other organisations recover and manage the risk of future damage. We’re also exploring new ways to make this work more accessible through the NZ Geotechnical Database (NZGD). Created using BEYON Digital Twin (Powered by Beca), the NZGD uses AI to make geotechnical data easier to access, understand and use. In short, our multidisciplinary geotechnical specialists help keep communities safe. Making sure New Zealanders understand landslide risk is a crucial part of the picture. That's why our team will be at LaRGE, the Landslide Risk and Geo-Education Conference in Queenstown from April 27. Check out why our team love what they do in this video. Great to hear Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella highlight Beca’s work during his keynote at Microsoft’s AI Tour, sharing how our digital team is working with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and Microsoft tools to turn complex data into practical insights for Aotearoa New Zealand. Built on Beca's BEYON Digital Twin platform and powered by Microsoft technologies, the solution brings a natural‑language AI agent to the forefront — making geotechnical data more accessible, intuitive and impactful. #MicrosoftAITour #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter

Great to meet with the Beca team in Auckland and see how they are using Azure, Foundry, and their BEYON platform to make the New Zealand Geotechnical Database more accessible and useful. It is a powerful example of AI helping engineers access critical data faster and make better decisions, as they build more resilient infrastructure across New Zealand. The April issue of the CIBSE Journal puts a spotlight on the redevelopment of the University of Auckland’s B201 building and shows how adaptive reuse is redefining what’s possible in the built environment.   Celebrated at the CIBSE Awards as Project of the Year – Workplace – International and the overall Building Performance Champion award, B201 demonstrates what’s possible when an ageing asset is treated as an opportunity.   “Recognition at the CIBSE Awards is a phenomenal result for the University and proof that with the support from our client and wider design team partners, Beca is at the forefront delivering world-class results for our clients,” General Manager – Buildings NZ & ASEAN at Beca Brendon Dwyer says.   www.cibsejournal.com   Jasmax Hawkins Precon Project Management BBD New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) Simon Neale MBA #Redevelopment #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter

Adaptive reuse is one of the most powerful strategies available to the built environment in the race to decarbonise. Yet large-scale examples that combine deep retrofit, structural resilience, electrification and high-performance building services remain relatively rare. The redevelopment of the University of Auckland's Building B201 demonstrates what is possible when a project team treats an ageing asset not as a demolition candidate, but as an opportunity. In the April issue, CIBSE Journal explores how the CIBSE 2026 Building Performance Champion used deep retrofit and building services engineering to transform the 1970s campus. www.cibsejournal.com #WeAreCIBSE #InspiringPeopleTransformingPlaces
