  • 🎉 We're excited to announce our partnership with Cardiovascular Associates of America - CVAUSA to automate prior authorizations across the nation's largest cardiovascular network. CVAUSA's 460+ cardiologists and 290+ advanced practice providers serve more than 1.3 million patients annually across 100+ clinic locations in eight states. The administrative complexity of cardiac care, from advanced imaging to interventional procedures, creates one of the heaviest operational burdens in healthcare. We're working together to remove that friction. Ascertain automates the manual work, from data entry to documentation to payer communications, so clinical teams can spend their time on patients, not paperwork. The holidays are a time to pause and reflect on what matters. To the nurses, care coordinators, and physicians spending this season caring for others. To the executives and IT leaders working to build healthcare systems that support their teams. To our customers and partners who inspire us every day. And to the Ascertain team, who pour their hearts into this mission. Thank you. We're grateful to be part of this work alongside you. Here's to a restful holiday season and an even brighter 2026. Happy Holidays!🎄

  • At Ascertain, we’re building agentic AI solutions that take the administrative burden off healthcare teams, saving hundreds of staff hours every week. Backed by Northwell Health and Deerfield Management, we’re restoring time, trust, and focus to the people who keep healthcare running. We’re looking for senior backend engineers in Brazil who want to work on technically challenging problems and see their work make a real-world impact. This is a high-ownership role for someone who loves designing robust systems, shaping engineering best practices, and working in a small, fast-moving team. You’ll work primarily in Python/FastAPI with opportunities to own features end-to-end across the stack. Why engineers in Brazil choose Ascertain: ›› True global remote team: Work fully remote with a U.S.-based company that values outcomes, not location. ›› Ownership from day one: Small team, real responsibility, and direct influence over architecture, infrastructure, and engineering culture. ›› Meaningful impact: Your work directly supports hospitals and care teams. ›› Strong technical growth: Modern stack, complex distributed systems, and exposure to regulated, high-reliability environments. ›› Competitive compensation + equity: Be part of a fast-growing company at an early stage. If you’re a backend engineer in Brazil who enjoys autonomy, solving hard problems, and building software that truly matters, we’d love to hear from you. https://lnkd.in/eWX5SRPe

Labor expenses per calendar day are up 5% year over year. Year-to-date costs are running 5% above 2023. And labor now accounts for nearly 60% of healthcare costs. This isn't a spike. It's structural. The question is no longer "should we automate?" It's "which workflows will deliver measurable ROI in months, not years?" The answer starts with the work that's burning out your clinical staff: prior authorizations, payer submissions, and the endless portal navigation that adds hours to every patient interaction. When we partnered with organizations like The Oncology Institute and Northwell Health, we saw 95% reductions in time per prior auth and 80% fewer clicks per submission. That's not a 3-year transformation, it's 90 days or less. If you're looking to start handling high volume workflows in 2026, get in touch with our team to see how we can help: https://lnkd.in/e6Piyqky #agenticai #healthcareops

Big highlight this month: visiting the Ascertain team in New York and spending real time with the people I've been building great things with across time zones. We capped the day with a team cooking night, and it reminded me just how thoughtful, talented, and global this group really is. There's something grounding about working alongside people who care deeply about what we're building: technology that gives healthcare teams their time back so they can focus on patients, not paperwork. We're growing. We're hiring Brazil-based seasoned backend engineers (remote), especially folks who enjoy Python, and FastAPI and want to work on real problems in healthcare. If you want to build something that matters with a team that moves with purpose, let's talk. 🇧🇷 Abraços do Brasil #hiring #SoftwareEngineer #BackendDeveloper #Brasil

The healthcare labor crisis isn't a staffing problem. It's a workflow problem. Yes, we need more nurses, more care coordinators, more clinical staff. But we also need to stop asking those people to do work that machines should handle. The average prior authorization takes 12+ minutes of manual work: logging in, finding the patient, pulling clinical notes, filling forms, submitting, following up. Multiply that by hundreds of prior auths per week, and you've built an entire department around data entry. The health systems that figure this out will have a structural advantage. Not because they're paying less. But because they're getting more from the talented people they already have. The ones that don't? They'll keep hiring, keep losing staff to burnout, and keep wondering why the math never works. Work design isn't a nice-to-have. It's the entire strategy. • We're thrilled to welcome our new Director of Growth and Partnerships, Larissa Liburd, to the Ascertain team! 🎉 Larissa's story captures what drives our work: behind every delayed authorization is a physician working late, a patient waiting in uncertainty, and a system that should be better.

If you know me, then you know my mother's grit (Carmelle Liburd, M.D.). You know she immigrated to the US, reacquired her medical license, opened her own practice, and has continued running it independently despite countless acquisition attempts, regulatory setbacks, and the passage of time. If you know me, you also know what that took. The late nights - "pajama time" - and long days spent on patient notes, fights with insurance companies, or billing. Hours that could have spent sleeping or resting, spent instead navigating a system built without physicians in mind. Her patients - mostly immigrants and elderly folks here in Miami - faced similar friction; struggling to understand why their care was denied, why approvals took weeks, and why the system felt designed to exhaust them. My mother never optimized for efficiency metrics. She optimized for her patients' needs, regardless of what the system demanded. And she paid for it in time, energy, and occasionally revenue. That's why I'm proud to be joining Ascertain as their Director of Growth & Partnerships. After years in strategy consulting and cloud partnerships, I'm ready to get into the weeds instead of the 10,000 foot view on a mission-critical problem. Healthcare is a necessarily human industry. AI has the potential to be revolutionary for it, and not just through efficiency gains, but how we think about work, dignity, and career growth. Most companies automating workflows are pretty clinical (pun intended!). Ascertain is different. We're focused on: - Helping specialist staff operate at the top of their license - Building career ladders for administrative staff that don't involve being on hold all day - Change management that respects the work, not just the automation potential This might be the next industrial revolution. I want to help usher it in with intention, ethics, and the kind of empathy my mother showed her patients. I am so excited to be on the ground, building alongside the people using these tools - there's simply no better way to learn. So if you're interested in touchless, intelligent automation of healthcare admin workflows, reach out. And if you're building in the AI / healthcare space, reach out. Let's collaborate on making this crazy industry less crazy! And...if you want to keep up with my learnings, follow me on Substack at The Human Context Protocol: https://lnkd.in/eA3Hukmf Lastly - a huge thanks to all the incredible people who helped me get here. I gave notice at BCG in July knowing I wanted to do something like this, but feeling incredibly supported in taking my time to land wherever felt right. Whether we talked for 5 minutes or 5 times a week...I appreciate you! Bryan Ramos Philip Javier Zakahi Kelsey Holmes Scott Renda Jeffrey Bussgang Julia Austin Elle Bloom Jeff Grimes Moselle F. • This is the kind of team we're building at Ascertain. Trust, generosity, and leaders who aren't afraid to be corrected on their orzo technique. We're hiring! Come join us: https://lnkd.in/ergp5c-h

The most important work your team does may not happen in a conference room... At a recent Ascertain offsite, we traded laptops for aprons and stepped into a professional kitchen for a company-wide cooking challenge. Somewhere between plating mains and debating the doneness of salmon cakes, something unexpected simmered to the surface: trust. I watched our Chief Product Officer hand over his team's berry sauce to save another team's dessert. I saw our CEO, Mark Michalski, get playfully corrected by the chef on his orzo technique. Small moments, but telling ones. Harvard's Amy Edmondson calls this psychological safety, and Google's Project Aristotle found it's the single most important factor behind successful teams. When leaders model vulnerability and generosity, they lower the cost of being candid for everyone else. Building high-performing teams isn't just an HR initiative. It's a leadership imperative. And sometimes, the best way to build trust isn't through another meeting. It's over orzo.

Why do health systems take so long to adopt new technology? It's not because they're slow. It's because they've been burned before. Now healthcare leaders demand something different: 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. That means vendors need to change their approach. Less pitch decks. More pilots. Faster time to measurable value. At Ascertain, we've built our entire model around this principle. We deploy in weeks, prove ROI early, and require minimal IT lift because we know the burden of proof is on us. Healthcare caution isn't the problem. It's the standard vendors should rise to meet. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eE3TYQ7p
