This month, six members of our Indianapolis team spent the day at Second Helpings unloading food deliveries, working in the prep kitchen, and getting the space ready for the next shift. Second Helpings mission is one worth knowing: they rescue food that would otherwise go to waste, prepare it, and deliver it to local nonprofits for free all while training people for careers in the culinary industry. Last month, our Pennsylvania colleagues gave their time to Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) , the lead resource for food security in the greater Phoenixville area. What stood out to us about PACS is their philosophy: meeting neighbors' nutritional needs with dignity and respect, connecting people to community resources, and embodying the idea of "community feeding community."
