This product update from Frappe might feel dry compared to others in the last year, but it's that way for a reason. Last month we paused all experimental developments and exclusively focused on quality problems affecting our current users. You'll likely not notice anything immediately because improvements in usability, security and stability largely go unnoticed... but we are sure that excellence is the only way to win in this market and we're in it for a long haul. https://lnkd.in/d5kSTs2S

Congratulations to the entire Frappe team on this massive release and thank you for the great collaboration. It is always a pleasure to build alongside you. Here are some of our contributions landing in v16: ⚡ Performance - Made link fields load 10x faster - Made the map view faster and more reliable 🛠 Features & Fixes - Added the ability to toggle between narrow and full-width layout - Visual Filter Builder in Notifications (No code required!) - Address Autocompletion (Geoapify, Nominatim, HERE) - Enhanced Locale settings for date, time, and number formats - Added the ability to extend doctype controllers (Huge thanks to Sagar Vora for doing most of the hard work!) - Sales Invoices can now link to a project without fetching timesheets - Added a report showing all role permissions of a specific user - Improved developer boilerplate for new apps - ...and much more, including German translations, ISO standard validations, and UI tweaks across the board. 💡 While these changes are exclusive to version 16, most of our fixes and smaller improvements have already been incorporated into version 15. As they are not strictly new, I'm not listing them here.

Say hello to version 16! 🚀 Two years in the making, v16 of Frappe Framework, ERPNext, and Frappe HR is finally here. We kept coming back to one question: how could we make our software more capable and adaptable for teams in their day-to-day work? A huge part of the answer came from you and the wider open-source ecosystem in the form of feature requests, contributions and feedback, many of which have been merged into this release, including a few breaking changes. Thanks for being a part of this release! 🤝 Go explore v16, and tell us which feature you like the most: https://lnkd.in/dpR4uquf Also, the story doesn’t end here! Keep watching this space for more. ☁️ #opensource #erpnext #frappeframework #frappehr #v16

Raffael Meyer has been one of the best contributors to the Frappe ecosystem. A couple of months ago, we sat down and discussed all sorts of random things from our programming journey to the usage of LLMs. Both of us have never been on a podcast before, but Foram Shah and Kshitiz Kakodkar made the whole experience quite effortless! If you're new to the Frappe ecosystem, I'd highly recommend listening to his take on becoming a long-term contributor.

🎙️The eighth episode of The Frappe Podcast is now live! This time, we sit down with two developers who’ve helped shape Frappe's code through years of contribution. Raffael Meyer, one of the most active community contributors and a partner from Germany (ALYF GmbH) and Ankush Menat, CTO at Frappe. Along with our host, Foram Shah, they talk about the craft of building on an open-source framework, the discipline behind good engineering, and what keeps developers contributing, learning, and pushing the product forward. They also share their own journeys as developers, from discovering programming to shaping code in ways that impact thousands. Here’s a sneak peek. While I was in Mumbai for Frappeverse, I had the pleasure of talking with Ankush Menat and our wonderful host Foram Shah. Ankush inspires me because he can dissect any problem from the high-level architecture down to the hardware. Check out his blog: https://ankush.dev/.
