    Yesterday we partnered with Air to (re)launch the meme booth! A photo booth that turns you into a starter pack meme, using an AI model trained on ~6 years of PATHETIC memes. The booth started as an experiment in training an LLM to reliably produce esoteric, niche internet humour. When we launched it to our audience we realised we had built something people loved - unfortunately API costs meant we had to charge for usage, which spoilt the fun. Air emerged as the perfect partner to relaunch the booth with unlimited usage and a sick co-branded redesign (courtesy of Jono Cole). We launched yesterday alongside a creator campaign and our signature memes - a good reminder people don't hate AI, they hate lazy implementations of it.     Wait for it... 👀 Tell me that's not the most creative beans ad you've ever seen? Absolutely Super Bowl worthy. We've been running a series this quarter spotlighting the best creative work from every vertical and shouting out the teams behind it. This week we are going off script just a tad showcasing concept ads. Heinz never commissioned this ad. But they absolutely should have haha. The whole thing was built by the VFX team at Cinesite London, the studio behind Skyfall and Iron Man 3, as a way to showcase their creature animation capabilities. Alvise Avati, the writer and director, grew up around storytelling, his father is legendary Italian filmmaker Pupi Avati, and it shows. The creature design took inspiration from crustaceans and deep sea life to get the color palette right. The dust physics on the moon surface were rebuilt multiple times because real moon dust physics looked wrong on screen. This is what happens when a team of world class artists gets creative control and a reason to care. It won gold at the AEAF awards. It was selected for the opening slot at Siggraph's Electronic Theatre in 2014. And it remains one of the best arguments for what spec creative can do that a brief never quite captures.     Design vs Developer 👀 All truly great ideas require collaboration. Even if the dev team stare you down like "Why would you design this??" Now... Multiply that by twelve. Because the realllly ambitious projects do not have two collaborators. They have an internal brand team, an external agency, a freelance motion designer who was brought in for one specific thing and now has opinions about everything, a performance marketer who needs different versions, a legal team who saw the latest round and flagged something, and an executive who watched a presentation last Tuesday and sent a voice note from their car with seven separate thoughts. That's what "collaboration" looks like at that level. And you can bet that every single one of those stakeholders is working from a different version. Sending feedback in a different format. Responding to a different email thread. Convinced they are looking at the most current file. Narrator: "They were not in fact looking at the most current file" The one universal truth about creative? The bigger the project, the more people touch it, and the harder it becomes to keep a single thread of truth running through all of it. Air is that thread for you.
