As the sun rose over the iconic Table Mountain, the 48th edition of the Cape Town Cycle Tour came to life with 30,000 riders lining up for one of the world’s most celebrated mass-participation races. But this year, it wasn’t just the athletes making an impact — the lighting design delivered a powerful visual statement at the starting line. Ultra Event Technical Solutions elevated the atmosphere at the historic Cape Town City Hall, with a bold architectural lighting installation powered by ADJ fixtures. A total of 16 ADJ Hydro Profile units transformed the façade, cutting through the early morning light with vibrant colour and precision optics — proving more than capable of holding their own against one of the world’s most breathtaking natural backdrops. Built for demanding environments, the Hydro Profile fixtures — part of ADJ’s rugged Hydro Series — delivered exceptional output and reliability. Featuring a powerful 660W LED engine producing over 25,000 lumens of output, combined with an IP65 rating, these fixtures are engineered to perform in any conditions, rain or shine. And while the weather couldn't have been better on the day, the production team had full confidence in a setup designed to withstand the unexpected. From its origins in 1978 as a small community ride to today’s globally recognised event, the Cape Town Cycle Tour continues to evolve. A university arena better known for sports was transformed into a full-scale rave as Peak 2026 brought high-energy production back to campus in unforgettable style. Tasked with creating the biggest production Cal State San Bernardino had ever seen, Props AV deployed an ambitious rig of ADJ lighting, video and atmospheric effects to completely reimagine the on-campus Coussoulis Arena — from a striking overhead ‘PEAK’ installation built with ElectraPix fixtures, to powerful Focus Profile moving heads, vibrant VS3IP LED screens and immersive haze from Entour Venue units.
