Over the past several years, medical education programs have trended toward the adoption of competency-based training systems. Last year, the ACVIM Board of Regents approved the creation of the Pathways to Competency Task Force with the objective of building a simple, clear, high-level assessment device to support resident training in each of the six ACVIM specialties. ➡️ Learn more about the Task Force’s work and discover how a competency-based framework will support the training and overall wellbeing of future ACVIM Diplomates: https://bit.ly/4mE9f7V

Congratulations to Joshua Stern, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology), on his installation as the Vladimir Cader Feline Health Research Distinguished Chair at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine! Dr. Stern was recognized for his impactful research focused on improving the understanding and management of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy- advancing the future of feline health care.
Yesterday the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine community celebrated the installation of Dr.Joshua Stern as the Vladimir Cader Feline Health Research Distinguished Chair. This chair was created by a grateful friend of the college to develop a continual source of funding to pursue important feline health issues and it is so fitting that it was awarded to Dr. Joshua Stern, whose career has particularly focused on improving our understanding and management of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, the most common heart disease in the cat. Endowed Faculty Chairs and Professorships are an excellent way for friends of the College to help support and fund research around key issues that they feel passionately about since the annual funding that comes with the endowment allows the faculty member to devote the maximum time to discovery rather than grant writing/submission. Discovery is a critical part of our Feline Health center and it helps ensure that feline medical care is even better tomorrow than it is today! We will share updates on how feline health care has already advance in our Feline Health Symposium this weekend supported with partnership of EveryCat Health Foundation NC State College of Veterinary Medicine = Life Changing Reseach; Impactful Partnerships
