Good idea, but not a very fluidy game to play. I only played this is 2020s, so sadly no nostalgia for me!

Decent enough game with some good presentation including a very recognizable rendition of Taichovsky's 1812 overture and the limo ride animation endsequence if you completed the game successfully, the 8 direction scrolling worked well where it is used but the shooting section was not that good perhaps worth a try to judge for yourself if you haven't played it beforr

Originally created for Atari in 1982. I remember seeing pictures in magazines back in the day and being jealous as an Intellivision owner. Herrera received awards for his amazing visual creation and rightly so.
Didn't like the game the first time I played it. It is a bit frustrating running into obstacles. But it has grown on me.
Game defaults to level 8. Start at level 1 for a more fun experience....my daughter and I certainly did.
The C64 and Atari have similar graphics.
However, the Atari has better sound design. The in-game 1812 tune is quieter and the explosions are better too.

The very first game I ever bought with my own hardearned money. The backside of the box showed a picture of the intro-sequence, which was what made me buy the game.
Thoroughly dissapointed after a few hours of play back then, I’ve since warmed up to the game some

Great intro and the 'rendition' of Tchaikovsky's - 1812 Overture was OK for the day as well in a primitive kind of way. The graphics were quite nice and the screen moved in 8 directions quite smoothly. The explosion sound effects were satisfyingly meaty as well. The shooter gameplay wasn't quite up to the intro's standards but it passed the time quite nicely back in '84. The limo ride if you saved the earth was a good touch as well.
Nice memories, 6 out of 10.

I loved the intro scene, really got me excited back in the day. Too bad the game wasn't all that great.

I don't know why but for me this game was sad. Maybe the music was the reason. I always feeled really melancholic when the earth exploded.
Great memories!

Better on the Atari, being specifically developed for that platform, but still a great game. I had such a hard time hitting the mega-mines until I realized that I could fire in one direction while moving in another. I love this game.

Nice music. Back then I didn't know it's a classical piece but by now I do. Cool game too. Many levels.

Ah I remember the music for this game, it was... What was it now. I'm sure you'd recognize it if you played it. I never knew what you were supposed to actually do, but when you're a 4 year old kid, you really don't care. I remember having fun playing it.

Quite nice game. Graphics looks good, the sound/music is simple but effectful and game-play is OK. An average game I would say.

A Strange little game.
Beautiful Introduction but the game. Well hit planets and bounce off them. I just really don't like this crap game.
