Message from John Campbell

The reason public education exists is to prepare students to take their places in society, as competent, productive members. As trustees of that worthy goal, educators strive to produce excellence in every student's academic life. New emphasis from state and federal government has not changed that original goal. Instead, it has sharpened our focus on the need to make sure everything we teach, everything we spend, and everything we model, leads to improved student achievement....

Two Kings Canyon Unified High Schools Selected as California Distinguished Schools

Celebrations

Kings Canyon Unified is proud to celebrate Reedley High School and Reedley Middle College High School on their recognition once again as California Distinguished Schools.

For Reedley High School, this marks the second time receiving this prestigious honor, which is significant given that it is one of only a handful of traditional high schools selected as a Distinguished School in Madera, Tulare and Fresno counties. Reedley Middle College High School is celebrating its third recognition since 2021. These distinctions reflect the dedication, innovation, and commitment to student success that are hallmarks of both campuses.

“Our school communities should be incredibly proud of this achievement,” said Superintendent John Campbell. “To see Reedley High School recognized again and Reedley Middle College High School earn this honor for the third time since 2021 speaks to the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff. At the same time, we know this work is never finished. These recognitions show we are on the right path, but they also challenge us to continue to keep taking it to the next level so every student in Kings Canyon Unified has the opportunity to succeed.”

Reedley Middle College High School is a unique charter school where students are dually enrolled at Reedley College, giving them the opportunity to complete college coursework while fulfilling their high school requirements. Last year, Reedley Middle College High School achieved a 100 percent graduation rate, and 100 percent of students met all A-G requirements, ensuring every graduate completed the coursework needed for eligibility to California’s public universities.
