Amman — After 30 years at the helm of the Jordanian Duty Free Shops (JDFS), CEO Haitham Al-Majali issued a heartfelt farewell message to the Jordanian media community, marking the end of his tenure on March 15, 2026.
In his message, Al-Majali expressed deep pride in the "guardians of the word" and the strategic partnership that helped position the company as a pillar of the national economy.
The Full Letter:
"To my esteemed brothers and sisters, leaders and representatives of the Jordanian media and press,
I extend to you my sincerest greetings and the profound pride you deserve as masters of the profession of truth and freedom.
As I depart my position as CEO of the Jordanian Duty Free Shops after thirty years since its founding, I recall with great pride the relations of cooperation, affection, and joint action that have brought us together over the past decades. You in the Jordanian media have played a fundamental and effective role in highlighting the company's successes and achievements locally and internationally as part of the Jordanian economic system.
What you have provided to JDFS—as one of the most important Jordanian economic institutions expressing the success of the partnership between the public and private sectors—has had the greatest impact on our success and is a source of deep appreciation and respect.
I leave this position after we have achieved, thanks to sincere Jordanian minds and hands, all our successes at home and abroad. I reaffirm my true respect for the role of the media throughout this journey in highlighting and interpreting these successes.
I extend to every individual and every institution my utmost appreciation, urging you to continue this vital and sincere role in highlighting the work of the company under its new management, which enjoys high competence and a good reputation. You are the true bridge between institutions and the Jordanian citizen everywhere.
While I thank you for this effort, I pray to Almighty God to grant you success and guide your steps in serving our beloved Jordan under the leadership and care of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, may God protect and preserve him.
Peace and blessings be upon you."
