Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out to Hexnode Connect. I understand that you are seeing an app crash immediately after an update.
To clarify how the process works: on Android, when you deploy a new version of an app via Hexnode UEM, the system is designed to replace the existing version with the newer one automatically. There is typically no requirement to uninstall the older version first; Android handles this as a standard update over the existing package.
Why the app might be crashing
Since the new version is crashing, it is unlikely to be caused by the deployment method itself. Instead, it usually points to one of the following:
Could you please verify the app build on a standalone device (outside of the UEM) to see if the crash occurs there as well? If the issue continues, feel free to share the app details (name, version, and device model/Android version), and we’ll be happy to take a closer look at it.
Please do reach out for any more queries.
Best regards,
George
