Capt. Eric A. Jones, USMC, wanted to fly helicopters so he could be close to the troops on the ground.
In this episode of Veterans’ Playbook, Eric’s Mother, Cyndy Jones – the Co-Founder and President of Heroes In Transition, Inc. (HIT) – shares the agony of being a Gold Star Family and the commitment that she and her late husband, Kenneth, made to carry on Eric’s mission through HIT.
Now 15 years later, HIT’s mission to assist veterans, active service members and military families is being realized through a variety of programs and events that focus on strengthening relationships, enhancing communication and empowering individuals and families.
4 Those Who Can’t
Heroes In Transition (HIT), Inc. was founded in 2009 to honor the life, legacy, and sacrifice of Capt. Eric Jones, USMC, who died in a combat mission in Afghanistan. Since that time, HIT has supported tens of thousands of veterans, service members, and military families through 15 specially-designed programs and events that build community, strengthen relationships, and empower individuals, especially those making the transition from military to civilian life.
“4 Those Who Can’t” is the motto of Ruck4HIT, a one-of-a-kind endurance event that has become HIT’s biggest annual fundraiser, as well as the title of this signature song. This 200+mile ruck relay travels through all 15 towns on Cape Cod over more than 30+ hours, raising funds and awareness for HIT.
Please listen to our new song, “4 Those Who Can’t“, on Spotify, and favorite it and share it.
