With the launch of the judicial overhaul, the signal was given to embark on a lethal campaign against the country's civil service and judiciary. The objective was to make the prime minister's corruption trial go away, to stop investigations against people in power and their associates, and to dismantle any state institution having the role of monitoring or criticizing the government and the person at its helm.
