IYEF Grant Program

About the Grant Program

The Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation (GLAEF) is excited to announce the 2026-2027 Inglewood Youth Education Fund grant program (IYEF). IYEF supports nonprofit organizations, schools, districts/LEAs, and public service providers dedicated to uplifting and empowering youth in Inglewood, California.

For the 2026–2027 funding cycle, IYEF offers two grant opportunities designed to support organizations at different stages of growth and capacity.

Program Support Grants

Five grants of $50,000 will be awarded to organizations with annual operating budgets over $1 million.

These grants support established youth-serving programs in Inglewood. Funding may be used for program operations, expanded services, staffing, participant support, or other activities that strengthen youth programming. Grant funds must support activities occurring between October 1, 2026, and September 30, 2027.

Capacity Building Grants

Ten grants of $10,000 will be awarded to organizations with annual operating budgets under $1 million.

These grants provide flexible operating support to smaller and emerging organizations serving Inglewood youth. Funding may be used for staffing, operations, technology, outreach, supplies, and other organizational needs that strengthen long-term sustainability and impact.

Funding Priorities

Proposals should align with one or more of the Fund's five focus areas:

  1. After-School Tutoring: Enhancing Inglewood student tutoring and enrichment.

  2. Youth Innovation and STEM Design Camps: Developing and operating coding, science, technology, and engineering camps.

  3. Keeping Students in School: Enhancing opportunities for Inglewood students to attend and matriculate through educational systems.

  4. Opening Pathways to College: Expanding counseling and supporting students seeking a post-secondary education.

  5. College Scholarships: Supporting Inglewood students with high financial need who are accepted to either a two-year or four-year college.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, schools (including public charter schools and independent and parochial K-12 schools), districts/LEAs, and public agencies serving youth in Inglewood. Independent and parochial K–12 schools serving Inglewood students are also eligible to apply.

Preference may be given to collaborative proposals involving nonprofits, schools/districts/LEAs, and public sector partners.
