Evolving pathogen genomics platform
Genome Detective has become an essential tool in our genomic surveillance and outbreak response activities. Its accuracy, speed, and intuitive interface allow us to rapidly analyze sequencing data and generate reliable results that support timely public health decision-making.
The platform has played a key role in several high-impact events in Argentina, including the genomic characterization of the Western Equine Encephalitis virus, which re-emerged after more than 40 years; the identification of the ECSA genotype of the chikungunya virus, introduced in 2023; and the detection of the introduction and replacement of dengue virus serotype 2 by the Cosmopolitan genotype, now predominant in the Americas.
The reliability and continuous development of Genome Detective give us strong confidence in our results. It is now fully integrated into our workflow and significantly strengthens our capacity to respond to emerging and re-emerging viral agents.
