Genesis3D Game Engine
Genesis3D exists in several different forms:
- 1.x: A classic C-based open-source 3D engine from the late ’90s, preserved for history buffs and curious developers.
- 2.x: A classic C++-based open-source 3D engine from the late ’90s, called Jet3D.
- 3.x: A brand new engine, currently in the early stages of development.
About Genesis3D
First released in the late 1990s, Genesis3D began as a pioneering open-source 3D engine and later powered a commercial web-game platform. It helped a large community of aspiring developers learn real-time graphics—many of whom went on to professional careers in the industry.

Now in the hands of Pixel Magic Games, we’re turning the page to a new chapter in the engine’s development. If you want to develop with Genesis3D 1.1, you may do so free of licensing obligations—the legacy engine is abandonware and its original stakeholders are long gone.

If you’d like to help build a brand-new MIT licensed Genesis3D, built completely from the ground up with no shared source from the original, join us on the forums!
