50th Ladies Race
This year marks the running of the 50th Ladies Race as part of the annual Freckleton Half Marathon.Below are a few facts from the races over the years:
- The Ladies Race was first run in 1977 and was won by Elly Deady of Preston Harriers.
- The lady with the most race wins is Susan Catterall of Wigan. She has 6 wins in total covering 1984/85/89/90/92 and 2003.
- The ladies course record was set in 1988 by Veronique Marot of Leeds with a time of 72m56s. Veronique was using the race as a warm up event for the upcoming Olympic Games.
