Fohhn Gallery

Space for Art

Introduction

Most important features

Let's get to the facts. What is the new processor capable of, what about connectivity and how can immersive applications and complex signal management be realized? Nico gives you an overview. For more detailed tutorials, get in touch with us!

Theaters

Expand the stage

Multi-channel audio can really enrich the visitor experience: A high-resolution sound system at the front with multiple hangs and the use of motion trackers, surround channel speakers on the rear and side walls all the way to a real-time mono downmix for the ceiling speaker in the bathroom. Fohhn Gallery makes it all possible.

Museums & exhibitions

Create memorable experiences

Reproducing natural spaces, creating virtual worlds or playing with the visitor's perception - with Fohhn Gallery there are no limits to your imagination. Realize your vision of an art exhibition or museum experience!

Simulators & rides

Beyond reality

A person's auditory perception is three-dimensional. If an experience is to be simulated as realistically as possible, this can only be achieved with immersive audio. Take your racing simulator, ride or theme park to a new level.

Live music

Immerse your audience

Formats that go beyond stereo open up completely new musical possibilities for artists and sound engineers. Instruments and sounds can be reproduced with greater clarity if they are distributed across multiple sources or even move in the space. Speakers surrounding the listening area involve the audience in the performance.

Fohhn Gallery Processor

The Fohhn Gallery Processor is the control center for any loudspeaker arrangement and complex signal management. The software is included on the device and can be used without a separate computer. The hard- and software features:

  • 100% object-based editing and rendering
  • Intuitive spatial control, placement and movement of audio objects and live inputs
  • Speaker zone grouping and management
  • Immersive multi-format Cue Media Player
  • Any output format feasible: 5.1, Dolby Atmos – 7.1.2, MPEG-H – 7.1+4, IMAX 3D – 12.0, but also a fulldome 64-speaker environment
  • Binaural headphone processing
  • Separate plugin available for pre-production of audio content in DAWs
  • Easy connectivity with Fohhn amplifiers via Dante
  • Additional interfaces (integrated): AVB (Milan), MADI, AES67
  • Supports OSC and EMBER+ remote protocols
  • Touchscreen support
  • CPU: Xeon

How to produce content

To produce immersive audio content for Fohhn Gallery, you can simply use your DAW. You can either export a standard format such as Dolby Atmos or work with the Fohhn Gallery VST plugin (available on request) to create any other format. While producing, you can use this plugin for binaural headphone playback or with any (immersive) speaker setup in your studio. After transferring the bounced files to the Fohhn Gallery Processor (e. g. via USB stick) they can simply be played by the internal Cue Player on any speaker setup.

How to run shows

With the Fohhn Gallery platform, it is also possible to work with live inputs. Audio channels can be fed to the Fohhn Gallery Processor via Dante from a digital console (e.g. Lawo, Digico, Stagetec or SSL), which simultaneously transmits the positioning of the sources via OSC. The sources can be moved by the sound engineer via the mixing console's touch display or in the Fohhn Gallery software on the processor itself. Additionally, you can also feed immersive playbacks from an external computer at the same time. For more detailled video tutorials, click here. (Please get in touch for access).

A successful cooperation

Fohhn has a long tradition in the field of immersive audio. Many years ago, we developed loudspeakers for Sonic Emotion for wave field synthesis. Later we collaborated with Encircled Audio, Yamaha and Dolby Atmos Studios. We also work with Müller BBM to equip projects with the Vivace electronic room reverberation system. You may have already experienced some of these technologies in our Fohhn SoundLab. Thanks to the cooperation with Tom Ammermann from New Audio Technology, we can now also offer a complete solution from a single source: Fohhn Gallery.

Grapes Audio

A helpful addition

All functions of the Fohhn Gallery processors can be remotely controlled via OSC. This allows third-party tools such as the Grapes automation software to be integrated. In addition, the processors can be synchronized via timecode. The easy-to-use Grapes software makes 3D audio control effortless and joyful — for sound designers, studios, and immersive life experiences.
