First Austin: a baptist community of faith

We're redefining what it means to be baptist!

If you are new to First Austin, here are a few things we think are important for you to know right away:

You belong here. (And so does everyone else). We are a radically inclusive community, and we look forward to welcoming you into our community. We work to be a comfortable space, so please come in whatever dress works for you. Our only request is that you bring an open heart, open mind, and your very self to this place.

We know that many of us have interesting histories with the Church. Some of us come to church with a deep love for this place, and for that we are grateful. Some of us come with more baggage, and for that we are here to support you. We want each new member to know: you are welcome to participate as much as you desire right now, and you are welcome to sit and heal here as long as needed. We will respect that.

Frequently Asked Questions

How early should I arrive?
We would recommend that you arrive 15-30 minutes before the 11am service, especially if you will be sitting together with a large group. You are welcome to join us for Sunday School as well (9:30am for children and 9:45am for adults).

Where do I park?
We have a parking garage directly across 9th street from the church. Parking is free during service times. There are entrances on Trinity and Neches between 8th and 9th streets.

Can my kids come?
Absolutely! We welcome children in all of our services. We also have free childcare available in our preschool suite on the first floor across from the elevator, in addition to an amazing program for youth.

How long will the service last?
About an hour.
