Over time, SAP became a global brand, and the abbreviation is no longer actively used with its original meaning but functions solely as the company name. The company is now officially known as SAP SE, where SE stands for Societas Europaea, a European public company designation.

SAP is frequently integrated with Microsoft platforms such as Azure, Power BI, and Microsoft 365. SAP NetWeaver and later integration technologies can interoperate with Azure Integration Services. SAP data can be exposed via APIs and analyzed in Power BI, while Azure is commonly used as infrastructure for SAP workloads.
