Uninstall Steps for SpyHunter and/or RegHunter
Choose the program you're using.
Depending on your operating system, follow the appropriate steps listed below to uninstall SpyHunter 5:

First, please make sure that SpyHunter is not running before proceeding:
To EXIT SpyHunter [All Windows Versions]

Locate the SpyHunter icon in the Windows System Tray (by default, located in the lower
right corner of your screen where the system date and time are displayed). -
Right-click on the SpyHunter icon and select "Exit".
A window will appear, informing you of the possible downsides of exiting SpyHunter. -
Click "Yes, Exit SpyHunter" if you understand the warning and agree to it.
If a User Account Control dialog appears asking "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to
your device?" click "Yes." This is required by the Windows operating system so that SpyHunter core
services can be stopped.
Windows 11

Click "Windows Start" ("Windows Key"), and then click the "Settings" item
(gear icon). -
Locate and click the "Apps" icon in the Settings window. Click "Installed apps" on
the right-side menu under "Apps" to open the "Installed apps" list. If you cannot locate
“Apps,” type “Installed Apps” into the “Find a Setting” search field near the top of
the window and click the “Installed Apps” option when it appears. -
Type "SpyHunter" into the "Search Apps" search bar underneath
"Apps -> Installed apps" to locate "SpyHunter." Click the “three dots” icon to the
right of "SpyHunter" and select "Uninstall." -
Click the "Uninstall" button in the "This app and related info will be uninstalled"
prompt that appears. If prompted, click "Yes" in the User Account Control prompt generated by
Windows. -
SpyHunter's uninstaller will now open. Click "Yes" to uninstall SpyHunter. NOTE: You may
be prompted to reboot your system as part of the uninstall process. - After the process is completed, check your Windows Desktop to confirm that all SpyHunter files and icons are gone. If not, delete any remaining SpyHunter files, such as "SpyHunter-Installer.exe" and the SpyHunter shortcut.
Windows 10

Click "Windows Start" ("Windows Key"), and then click the "Settings" item
(gear icon). -
Click the "Apps & Features" icon in the Settings window. -
In the "Apps & Features" list, find and click on "SpyHunter." You can type
"SpyHunter" into the "Search this list" search bar to quickly locate it. Click on
"SpyHunter" to highlight it and then click the "Uninstall" button. -
Click the "Uninstall" button in the "This app and related info will be uninstalled"
prompt that appears. If prompted, click "Yes" in the User Account Control prompt generated by
Windows. -
SpyHunter's uninstaller will now open. Click "Yes" to uninstall SpyHunter. NOTE: You may
be prompted to reboot your system as part of the uninstall process. - After the process is completed, check your Windows Desktop to confirm that all SpyHunter files and icons are gone. If not, delete any remaining SpyHunter files, such as "SpyHunter-Installer.exe" and the SpyHunter shortcut.
WINDOWS 8/8.1

Click the “Windows Start” button (or press “Windows Key” + “Q”), and then
click the “Gear” icon to open "PC Settings." -
In "PC Settings," click "Control Panel" on the left-side menu. -
In the Control Panel window, click "Programs and Features." -
In the "Uninstall or change a program" window, locate "SpyHunter," right-click it
and select "Uninstall/Change" in the right-click menu. -
SpyHunter's uninstaller will now open. Click "Yes" to uninstall SpyHunter. NOTE: You may
be prompted to reboot your system as part of the uninstall process.
Windows 7

Click the Windows Start button, and then click "Control Panel" on the right-side menu. -
Click "Programs and Features." -
In the "Uninstall or change a program" window, locate "SpyHunter," right-click it
and select "Uninstall/Change" in the right-click menu. -
SpyHunter's uninstaller will now open. Click "Yes" to uninstall SpyHunter. NOTE: You may
be prompted to reboot your system as part of the uninstall process.
Windows XP

Click "Windows Start", and then click the "Control Panel" item -
Click on "Add/Remove Programs." -
In the "Add/Remove Programs" window, left-click "SpyHunter" to highlight it. Once
"SpyHunter" is highlighted, right-click it and then click on the "Uninstall"
(or "Uninstall/Change") menu option. -
The uninstaller will ask you if you're sure that you wish to continue to remove
"SpyHunter". Click "Yes" and follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
Note: You may be prompted to reboot your system to complete the process.
To uninstall SpyHunter for Mac, follow these steps:

You must first exit the SpyHunter for Mac application. -
Then open a "Finder" window by clicking the "Finder" icon in the Dock. -
In the "Finder" sidebar, click the "Applications" folder and select
"SpyHunter" in the list of apps. -
Right-click the SpyHunter icon and select "Move to Trash", or drag and drop the SpyHunter
icon from the "Applications" folder to the "Trash" icon (generally located at the right of
the Dock). -
If you wish, Mac OS gives you the option to right-click on the "Trash" icon and select
"Empty Trash" to permanently delete all items in the "Trash" folder. Before emptying the
"Trash," you should review the items in your system's "Trash" folder and confirm that you do
not need any of them.
Note: Like most Mac apps, removing SpyHunter for Mac through the "Trash" may not fully remove all minor remnants of the app (such as log files and configuration settings). If you have any questions about the uninstall process, please contact our technical support team.
How to Disable or Remove the SpyHunter Web Security Browser Extension on Chrome

Right-click on the SpyHunter Web Security icon in the Google Chrome toolbar. -
Click Remove from Chrome and confirm.
OR
-
Type "chrome://extensions" in the Chrome address bar and press Enter. - Locate the SpyHunter Web Security Chrome extension.

Next to it, you'll see a checkbox labeled Enabled and a Trash Can icon. -
If you want to temporarily disable the SpyHunter Web Security browser extension, untick
the Enabled box. -
If you want to remove it completely, click on the Trash Can icon and confirm.
OR

Click the Customize and Control Google Chrome button in the top right corner. - Navigate to More Tools > Extensions.

Locate the SpyHunter Web Security Chrome extension. -
Next to it, you'll see a checkbox labeled Enabled and a Trash Can icon. -
If you want to temporarily disable the SpyHunter Web Security browser extension, untick
the Enabled box. - If you want to remove it completely, click on the Trash Can icon and confirm.

- For smooth removal, right-click the SpyHunter 4 icon in the system tray and select “Exit.”

Click "Windows Start" ("Windows Key"), and then click the "Settings" item
(gear icon). -
Locate and click "Apps" in the "Settings" window. If you are not able to locate
"Apps," type "Apps & Features" into the "Find A Setting" search field near the top of
the window and click on the "Apps & Features" option when it appears. -
In the "Apps & Features" list, find and left-click "SpyHunter 4". Once
"SpyHunter 4" is highlighted, click on the "Uninstall" button. - Click "Uninstall" in the "This app and related info will be uninstalled" prompt generated by Windows. Click "Yes" in the User Account Control prompt generated by Windows.
- Once the "SpyHunter Uninstall" window appears, it will ask you if you're sure you wish to remove "SpyHunter 4." Click "Yes" and follow the instructions of the "SpyHunter Uninstaller" to complete the uninstallation process.
- Once the "SpyHunter Uninstaller" completes, close the "Apps & features" window.
- Check your Desktop to see if all "SpyHunter 4" icons have been deleted. If not, please delete any remaining SpyHunter 4 files and shortcuts, such as "SpyHunter-Installer.exe" and the "SpyHunter 4" shortcut.
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
- To ensure smooth removal, right-click the SpyHunter 4 icon in the system tray and select “Exit.”

Click "Windows Start" ("Windows Key" + "Q" in Windows 8), and then click the
"Control Panel" item. -
Click on "Programs and Features" or double-click on "Add/Remove Programs"
(Windows XP). -
In the "Programs and Features" window (or the "Add/Remove Programs" window in
Windows XP), right-click "SpyHunter 4." Once "SpyHunter 4" is highlighted, click on the
"Uninstall" button. -
Once the "SpyHunter Uninstall" window appears, it will ask you if you're sure you wish
to remove "SpyHunter 4." Click "Yes" to start the uninstallation process. - Once the "SpyHunter Uninstaller" completes, close the "Control Panel" window.
- Check your Desktop to see if all "SpyHunter 4" icons have been deleted. If not, please delete any remaining SpyHunter 4 files and shortcuts, such as "SpyHunter-Uninstaller.exe" and the "SpyHunter 4" shortcut.

RegHunter can be uninstalled in two ways:
Windows 10

Click "Windows Start" ("Windows Key"), and then click the "Settings" item
(gear icon). -
Locate and click "Apps" in the "Settings" window. If you are not able to locate
"Apps," type "Apps & Features" into the "Find A Setting" search field near the top of the
window and click on the "Apps & Features" option when it appears. -
In the "Apps & Features" list, find and click on "RegHunter." Once "RegHunter"
is highlighted, click on the "Uninstall" button. - Click "Uninstall" in the "This app and related info will be uninstalled" prompt generated by Windows. If it appears, click "Yes" in the User Account Control prompt generated by Windows.
- Once the "RegHunter Uninstall" window appears, please select your language, if prompted. Next, the uninstaller will ask you if you are sure that you wish to continue to remove "RegHunter". Click "Yes" and follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation process. Note: You may be prompted to reboot your system to complete the process.
- Once the "RegHunter Uninstaller" completes, close the "Apps & features" window.
- Check your desktop to see if all "RegHunter" icons are gone. If not, please, delete any remaining RegHunter files and shortcuts, such as "RegHunter-Installer.exe" and the "RegHunter" shortcut.
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8

click the "Control Panel" item. -

In the "Programs and Features" window (or the "Add/Remove Programs" window in
Windows XP), left-click "RegHunter" to highlight it. Once "RegHunter" is highlighted,
right-click it and then click on the "Uninstall" (or "Uninstall/Change") menu option. -
Once the "RegHunter Uninstall" window appears, please select your language, if prompted.
Next, the uninstaller will ask you if you're sure you that you wish to continue to remove
"RegHunter." Click "Yes" and follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
Note: You may be prompted to reboot your system to complete the process. - Check your desktop to see if all "RegHunter" icons are gone. If not, please, delete any remaining RegHunter files and shortcuts, such as "RegHunter-Installer.exe" and the "RegHunter" shortcut.
Type "about:addons" in the Firefox address bar and press Enter.
Locate the SpyHunter Web Security Firefox extension.
Click the Open Menu button in the top-right corner of Firefox.
Click Add-Ons.
Click on the Settings and more button in the top right corner of Microsoft Edge.
Navigate to Extensions.
Locate the SpyHunter Web Security Edge extension and click on the Sprocket button next
to it.
If you want to remove it, click on the Uninstall button and confirm.
