TV / SAT TV installation diagram with IF/IF conversion - apartment building

This is an example of installation in an apartment building. This system enables the users to receive any TV program from each TV-SAT outlet in the apartment. Subscribers of SAT television are able to connect their SAT receivers and receive broadcasts from two satellites (in the case shown - Astra and Hot Bird). The antenna and diplexer are installed on the roof, the set of IF/IF converters, set of amplifiers, and splitters - in the attic. Such a design provides opportunity for developing in the future, for instance, by CCTV monitoring - as shown here. While building a new house or during renovating or upgrading the old one, the developer should remember about cabling every room where TV-SAT outlets are to be installed. It is also a good idea to make a little investment in quality SAT cable to avoid a need of replacement in a few years' time. Due to the complexity of such an installation the design should be entrusted to a professional company. The problem with this system is the fact that the administrator of the building should once select available programs. The number of TV channels depends on the number of IF/IF converters. The system requires 7 converters ("three and half" panels - each has 2 converters) to receive broadcasts e.g. from Cyfra+, Polsat and N platforms. It is better, however, to add a few additional panels so the user can also receive some FTA (free to air) programs. In this example installation there are 7 panels - 14 IF/IF converters.
