What the Steele dossier does is it reflects the fevered pitch of the moment. The left was terrified about Donald Trump, they were terrified about what a Donald Trump presidency could do. So they grasped for anything that they could, it allowed them to provide a narrative to how Donald Trump was being unfairly tainted by this.

This fevered pipe dream of Washington that at the convention they would parachute in some white knight who will save the Washington establishment, it is nothing less than a pipe dream, it ai n’t gon na happen. If it did happen, the people would quite rightly revolt. Senator Cruz only bolstered his case that he's gaining momentum in the battle against front-runner Trump with his Wisconsin victory.
