Oasis are reportedly planning a stunning 12-night residency at the home ground of Liam and Noel Gallagher's beloved Manchester City next summer, as part of a massive tour set to be unveiled within weeks. It's exactly a year since the hugely anticipated Oasis Live '25 comeback tour got underway with an unforgettable opening night in Cardiff.
Now, the Etihad Stadium is understood to be preparing to host an epic 2027 homecoming for Oasis, hot on the heels of their record-breaking reunion tour of 2025, according to multiple sources who have spoken to the Manchester Evening News.
Further dates are expected to be confirmed, with speculation mounting over a potential return to Knebworth, while bookmakers are already pricing the band as odds-on favourites to headline Glastonbury next year.
Manchester City's Etihad Stadium welcomed back live music this summer following a three-year hiatus while expansion works on the North Stand were completed.
The venue proved to be a breathtaking backdrop for two major acts this summer, with The Weeknd and Take That both performing to tens of thousands of fans throughout June and July. Now, those in charge are believed to be setting their sights on an even more spectacular 2027, with Oasis poised to return and take to the hallowed turf of the Blues once more.
Man City's fixture list for 26/27 sees their final home match at the Etihad Stadium taking place on Saturday May 23 against Aston Villa, while the closing day of the Premier League season falls on Sunday May 30, when City travel to Sunderland.
The MEN has been informed by multiple sources connected to the club and promoters that 12 nights could be confirmed later this summer. The announcement is expected to trigger an enormous rush amongst fans attempting to secure tickets the moment the news becomes official.
A music industry insider told the MEN: "It will be 12 nights at the Etihad Stadium across May and June. It's just massive for Manchester and for the local economy.
"They could even add more dates to that as well, there's talk of up to 20. The wider tour is also going to include a return to Knebworth."
The MEN also learnt from a separate source that a luxury city centre hotel has been entirely booked out from the end of May through June for the band's arrival and their touring entourage. This appears to support the indication of performances being scheduled throughout May and June for the tour.
Additionally this past week, Manchester's Parklife festival revealed a significant alteration to its dates for 2027. Traditionally held over a weekend in June, next year they will stage it in July for the first time, on the dates of July 10 and 11.
The news sparked a frenzy of speculation among Oasis fans across social media, with many suggesting that Parklife's move to July could free up June for a highly anticipated run of shows from Oasis in the city. However, the MEN understands that Heaton Park is not currently being considered as a venue for the upcoming Oasis tour.
Bookmakers have further stoked the rumour mill this week, with Betway offering odds of 2/1 on Oasis headlining Glastonbury in 2027 as part of a widely anticipated world tour.
When Liam and Noel Gallagher first announced their landmark reunion back in August 2024, they declared that "the guns have fallen silent, the stars have aligned, the great wait is over". The announcement of dates for Oasis Live '25 triggered one of the most frantic ticket sales in music history, as devoted fans scrambled to secure their spot.
This weekend marks the one-year anniversary of Oasis' triumphant return to the live stage. On Friday, July 4, 2025, they delivered a spine-tingling opening night of their world tour at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, before the tour rolled back home to Manchester for the ultimate homecoming at Heaton Park.
A brand new documentary charting their sensational comeback is set to be released by Disney+, with a full cinema release pencilled in for the Autumn, further stoking demand and excitement for more live dates from the iconic band. On Friday morning, Liam stoked the flames even further when he cheekily responded to fans with football banter surrounding the England v Mexico match.
He replied to a fan: "You say that now but soon as we announce the gig nxt wk I mean nxt year I mean happy Christmas you'll be running around like headless chickens trying to get a ticket so stop acting tuff."
This prompted many fans to speculate that a major announcement could be just around the corner, potentially as early as next week. Rumours have been swirling for some time that the new tour will be unveiled in September - conveniently coinciding with the film premiere on September 11.
Some fans have even suggested the announcement could appear in the end credits of the movie itself. Oasis' PR team and the Etihad Stadium are yet to respond to the speculation.
