I had a amazing day spindle training day with Rick, it was very informative. The day was taken at relaxed pace which was good for me as I am not the quickest of turners, but as Rick said it's not race. I learnt how to break down simple patterns on paper, to replicate this shape to wood. Then using the turned spindle to create duplicate spindle.  Rich was very patient with me and my bad habits. I learnt so much about tool control, which will make me more a confidant and better turner. I was well looked after with supplies of tea and coffee all day and the odd cake or biscuit, and for lunch a lovely homemade soup by his wife. I don't think I could ask more from this course. And I'm sure I will be looking forward to booking another one of his courses.
