Compassionate Atlanta (CA) is a grassroots community building nonprofit rooted in the belief that compassion is the thread that weaves communities towards equitable health outcomes. By fostering deeper human connection across Georgia, CA encourages individuals, organizations, and institutions to lead with wise, compassionate action in all they do.
Serving as the connective tissue for more than 200 partners—including nonprofits, schools, municipalities, businesses, and healthcare systems—CA works collaboratively to cultivate a culture where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported. Through compassion education, cross-sector collaboration, and civic engagement, we promote compassion as both a core value and a daily practice.
CA embodies the principles of belonging, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in its programs, partnerships, and internal operations. We break down systemic barriers and nurture meaningful relationships so that communities can thrive—together.
Over the past decade, CA has become a trusted convener and catalyst across the state. Our work integrates leadership development, storytelling, healing-centered engagement, and practical strategies to address the Social Determinants of Health—combating loneliness, mental health challenges, systemic inequities, and social fragmentation through the power of compassion.
CA conducts programming under five initiatives, collaborating with community stakeholders and partners to create a ripple effect of compassion that advances shared goals. Each initiative has robust transformative programming focusing on
compassion for Self,
compassion with and for others,
in place making,
beyond Atlanta,
and within systems.
