“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Martin Luther King, Jr. The idea is simple. It is that there needs to be a way for people of color (and their partners) to relate to BDSM in way that provides good information and a safe space to learn and discuss the Lifestyle. So, we made it happen and created a group by the name of San Diego Interracial. We bring knowledge, safety, comfort and community to San Diego kinksters of color, their partners and proponents. We want to meet and greet, network, educate and provide quality information to those who want to learn more about the local BDSM community from experienced, friendly people in the San Diego county area and beyond. The group is inclusive...black, white, latin, asian, pacific islander, as well as Dom/mes, subs, slaves, Switches, cucks, hotwives, vanilla, kinksters, gay, straight, bisexual...whatever. It's about people of color and/or those who are in relationships with people of another ethnicity, and who want to learn more about being kinky (in whatever way they see fit that's safe, sane and consensual). We have monthly workshops in San Diego. To learn the most up-to-date details of where and when, please see the journal for this profile (scroll down to see it). |

Clarification of group intent:
Our workshops are NOT designed as a way to meet/hook up/network with people of color. These aren't "socials" or "mixers" to find a partner. There are plenty of groups/websites that cater to that.
We provide workshops and space for people of color (and their existing partners) to have a safe, comfortable environment to discuss, learn about, and explore kink without having to feel "on guard".
So, with much respect, we ask that you do not take part in any events unless you are a person of color or you are already IN an interracial relationship. Thank you! :0) |

We had our first event this week at Pleasures & Treasures in North Park, and it was really wonderful. We had a local Black Female Dominant speak about her journey in BDSM and the Lifestyle, and then we had the amazing Thizbee present a Kink 101 workshop. Woot!
The next workshop will be the 28th of May, at 7:30-9:30 pm, at Pleasures & Treasures. A $5 donation is requested (to cover the costs of renting the space). The workshop will be about the basics of BDSM dating.
Hope to see you there! |
