	First things first... As of 1302010 I am owned and collared by My Lady, Miss Jae. While I loathe labels, Im essentially a dominant masochist. But I must admit, I am submissive(ish lol) to only one. Ive got a wicked sense of humor. I love to laugh and make others laugh. Im a big goof. But I know when to be serious... if I somehow forget, My Lady has no problem reminding me. When I look at myself, I see Baloo from the original Jungle Book movie. (Voiced most expertly by the late, great Phil Harris). Baloo is me in a nutshell, he feels the music in his veins, hes funny, fierce, protective, caring, rough, and tough. While his demeanor is that of playful, fun, and easy going - he takes no shit. All that said, totally down for making new friends in the area as we are active within the Tampa Bay scene.

Needles 101: I've got a box of needles, now what do I do?!? with MissDawn

My favorite quote from Captain Howdy. While he was a psychopath who did not believe in the other person’s consent being given or even needed, the above quote speaks volumes to me. For me, needles have been my rite of passage. It most definitely is physical. The physical touch of the Top on the bottoms skin before the needle pierces the skin. Pain, oh sweet enduring pain. Pain, of course, is a relative term and we all feel and process that feeling differently. Some laugh, some cry, some do a dance with their feet (that would be me by the way). Lastly but definitely not least, marks. Mmmmmm. Marks. It can be as simple as small little dots on your skin to bruising to designs left by the needles. Again, as with pain, marks are as different as you and I.

So come join us as I present Needle Play 101 or I have a box of needles, now what do I do?

About Our Presenter

Miss Dawn has been active in the Florida community since 2006. After moving to Tampa in 2004 from the Florida Panhandle, she ventured out to her first Munch in 2006 after receiving an email on CollarMe from Sandy (MichellesAlpha) who helped run the West Pasco County Munch with Master Michelle. After attending that first munch, she's never looked back. She has been active within many groups in the Tampa and Jacksonville areas. Miss Dawn calls Fetish Circuit in Tampa her fetish home and family with extremely close ties to The Woodshed in Orlando. Miss Dawn is also active with community outreach concerning HIV/AIDS, Blood borne Pathogens, LGBT rights, and foster/medical foster children.

Miss Dawn first experienced needle play at Bash 2007 from Sir Talon (Thank you!) and instantly fell in love with the release and the purging that came with the pain. Being poked soon turned to poking others and she learned as much as she could from Sir Talon. Miss Dawn enjoys various aspects of needle play. From the artistic designs to the twisting, pulling, and smacking sadistic side.

He will also be performing FREE HIV RAPID TESTS for those that are interested in knowing their status.

For those that are unaware:

As of 2011 Jacksonville was 5th in the nation for HIV/AIDS infections and 1st in the state of Florida according to CDC statistics from 2008. According to the Florida Department of Health, Jacksonville is now number 3 in the US.

We've all seen the movie. The scene where Fiona and Shrek are walking through the forest. Fiona pushes Shrek and he barely moves. Shrek pushes Fiona back and sends her flying into the bushes.

This is the story of my life with forg0ttenclone, my own personal ogre.

The Big IT

Have you ever looked at someone, vanilla or kinky, and said “They just don’t get IT”?

Have you ever looked at a scene going on and said “Wow now that’s what I’m talking about, They get IT”?

It is my opinion that in our D/s lifestyle we have a potential for a LOT more IT than the nillas. Our relationships are far deeper than nilla relationships because of… IT.

So what is this IT that you speak of? How do I obtain “IT”? What books do I study? What classes do I attend? How do you satiate what is now your burning need for… IT?

Have you ever watched a Dom and Sub that “Get it” interact? Have you noticed that it is a choreographed ballet that is set to music that is only in their heads and unique to them? THEY GET IT!

I could go on for hours teasing you and giving you examples but I’m really not that sadistic… Hehehe.

About Master Cecil

Master Cecil has been involved in the lifestyle for about 30 years, when at 18 years old he was picked up by a submissive and shown that a flogger, properly applied, is a good thing. He is now living his dream as the lucky owner and lead volunteer of The Woodshed in Orlando for the past 3 years.

Since December of 2006 he has been joined on his life path by his wonderful submissive, helpmate, and the real brains of the operation, his lovely Darcy, who has supported him and has made his dreams her own for the betterment of the community at large, and particularly the I-4 corridor.

Master Cecil became part of the public community when he attended the 2nd ever Orlando munch in the mid 90s.

For several years, he owned a company called Dungeon Designs Inc. and ran the circuit of Leather conventions throughout the Southeast United States as a vendor and sometime speaker, vending and having fun throughout the year.

The Woodshed is a dream that originated in the mid 90s after his first public play party that was held in a townhouse of about 800 square feet with at least 40 people packed into it. It was easy for him to ascertain that Orlando was in dire need of a safe place to play. His dedication to SM education was the other driving force in his desire to open an SM community center providing the community with a safe place to learn. Thus the dream of The Woodshed gelled in his mind and was refined by conversations with many people over the years and finally became a reality in January of 2008.

He has presented on the local and regional level and is now serving the Central Florida community as the owner of The Woodshed. He also works to make himself available to smaller groups, munches and TNG gatherings throughout Central Florida.

For July's TNG Munch, we are honored to have Caro sharing her vast knowledge with us on the subject of Respect, Honor, Integrity, and Ethics - What's It Really All About? I urge everyone to come out and participate in this important discussion/presentation. In our kink and vanilla lives alike, these characteristics are vital.

This presentation/discussion examines personal and community (group) ethics (or lack thereof) that can be brought to bear in play, in relationships, or in a "community." On a personal level, consider this: Are coercion, humiliation, induction of guilt, threats of withholding affection/attention, physical punishment, reenactment of trauma, isolation, denial of food and or sleep brainwashing or training techniques -- or both? Is it "training," brainwashing, Stockholm syndrome, or any/all of the above? As a member of a group or community, what standards do you have? Expect? Enforce? Using this and other subjects in a dialogue/discussion forum, this presentation will examine and discuss the various choices that can be made.

A bit of information about Caro

With more than three decades of bi-coastal participation in Leather & BDSM/ communities, Caro has been a titleholder, international presenter, contest judge, emcee, wrangler, coach, and keynote speaker. She is the recipient of a Pantheon of Leather award in 2007, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Leather Association in 2009.

Caro began teaching classes in San Francisco in 1989 and since that time she has been a repeat presenter at various events in both the United States and Canada including: Beyond Leather, Beyond Vanilla, CLAW, DSF, Floating World, GLLA, IMsL, KCLU, Heart of America, LLC, Ottawa Leather Pride, Mr. Leather Toronto, smOdyssey, Spring Iniquity, TES, Tribal Fire, Twisted in Tulsa, and Winter Solstice, as well as for smaller groups such as House of Differences, Sanctuary of the Dark Angel, and WOLF. In addition, she has done lecturing for undergraduate and post-graduate level classes in creativity and sexuality at University of Pennsylvania, Widener University, and UCSF.

An international titleholder (Ms. Olympus 2005), she has judged local, and regional titles in the US and Canada, and international titles in the US including: Mr. Leather XXX and International Mr./Ms. Olympus. Other contests she has judged include: South Central Leather Woman, Florida Leather Sir/boy&Boot Black, Mid-Atlantic Leather Sir/boy&Boot Black, aMid-Atlantic Leatherwoman, Mr./Ms. Beyond Leather, Florida Olympus, Great Lakes Olympus. and Great Plains Olympus. She has also judged Ottawa Olympus and Mr. Leather Ottawa 2007. Caro has judged the North American Pony/Trainer, which, in addition to judging the International Pony/Trainer, makes her the only person to have judged two national/international pony contests.

Caro’s served on the Executive Board of the National Leather Association and chaired the Education Committee. She is the co-founder of Women in Leather International, (her membership card is #2), Audeamus, and she is exceedingly proud to have been responsible for conceiving and participating in some of the first “Elder’s/Leather History Panels” (affectionately known as the “fossil hour”) at various events such as Spring Iniquity, Beyond Leather, and WILF. She is the co-founder of Women In Leather International, and currently serving as an adviser to the Transcending Leather Corps.

There is a hunger within me. One that has drowned out many other parts of myself. It's a hunger for things beyond my control. One that cannot be fed by me alone. It is an insatiable beast; one that controls my very inner being. With the more that i feed this hunger, the more i awaken parts of me within that have long been dormant.

As these portions of myself re-awaken and become aware of their new existence, i am left fighting with these new desires. How do i incorporate these new entities within me, into the already preexisting symbiotic relationships? How do i wrap my head, and more importantly, my thought processes around them?

The journey that i am on, began with taking the first steps - all of which i have done. I've given in to internal desires, lusts, and hungers. I now bear witness to their strength and power. As i give in to them... not only do i bear witness, i feel the power and strength within myself. While at the same time, it is foreign to me. The other parts of me cry out that it is not strength or power but weakness.

Thus the internal struggles are born.

How do i start this off? Hrmm... That's tricky. Well, i attended the woodshed for only the second time. Generally i live by the phrase of "You only get one chance to make a first impression." While that phrase holds true with many facets of my life, i withheld judgment after my first visit. the first time i went, i was none too impressed over all. But, i was in a different mind set going in.

My first visit there, i accompanied my friend there. It was pretty packed to say the least. My second time, i went alone, but i was meeting a Domme there. I was beyond nervous on both trips. My first trip didnt turn out near as well as i'd have liked. It was partly my fault when it came down to the scene... or quarter of a scene. It was my first time attempting to play in public. Unfortunately, neither of us could get into the right headspace. But, it happens.

My second trip was simply awesome. Most of the night, i people watched. I'm a people watcher. That and i'm pretty shy. So i wanted to wait it out and let people clear before playing, after all... it will be my second attempt at scening in public. So needless to say, i was super nervous. However, the Domme i was meeting helped to put me at ease. Part of me was scared that i would not be able to walk the walk since i had already talked the talk, prior to meeting her in person. (I know, i know. I broke a cardinal rule. I played the first time i met someone. But the chemistry was there and i couldnt wait to play with her).

All in all, we probably played for two hours. Id never really played for too much more than an hour any other time ive ever scened. The first hour and 15 min was spent goofing off while restrained in suspension cuffs to a whipping post. I was laughing, giggling, singing along to music, and having a ball. Then it happened. -Zonk- I was off floating. I didnt understand it. My mind was going nuts trying to understand just what was going on and what i was feeling. This was new to me. No longer was i responding to the Evil Cane or paddles against my backside. No, no. I was gone.

Now i've never experienced subspace in the 3-4 years i've been in the lifestyle. I've played with almost a handful of Dommes prior to last night. but, i'd never reached that point. So i always thought of subspace is this mythological place that i was not capable of reaching. I've always been the cynical type anyways. So suddenly last night, here i was in this strange headspace for lack of a better term. I can't really describe it, but it was amazing.

Just wow. that is all i can say. Well, naturally other than a hundred thank you's to her... I'm really at a loss for words. I had an absolutely amazing time that was unlike any other. There was a quote i once read "Subspace is my perfect paradise vacation from busy-mind... blessed is the Dominant who can stamp my ticket there." All i can say is Amen.

Since i've had a chance to start playing again, i've been finding myself feigning and craving that next chance to be on the receiving end of whatever instrument She chooses. It's becoming more and more like a drug to me. It's almost like a crackhead needing that next hit or that next high. -laughs-

As time goes by it transforms from being something of a want to being a dire need.

Pain is now my drug of choice.

There's nothing like waking up the morning after a good beating, it's like a hangover that covers the entire body. Looking into the mirror you're able admire each beautiful knot, mark, bruise, or welt. Running your fingertips over them and savoring the feeling as you wince from the soreness. Ah! Pure Beauty!

What is with people and the misspelling of "boy?" Do Dom/mes think that because they spell it as "boi" it is somehow demeaning to male submissives/slaves? Does it somehow make Dom/mes feel more superior? I mean seriously.

Now then, if you want to feel superior or be more respected; Use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Sure, you may be able to impress the fakes, flakes, and trolls by calling them boi, worm, or whatever wanna-be derogatory term you can come up with. But anyone with any sense would laugh at you.

Just for future reference... It is spelled "boy" B-O-Y.

For the first time in a long time, i played as a bottom to a Domme. While i've played with a handful of Dommes in the past, the experience was different with each one. This experience is no different and certainly stands on its own. While it was the first of what i hope are many more experiences with Her. I had a blast. I don't think i've ever laughed so much while being beaten, ever. That in itself is part of what makes it stand out. Prior to, any other time i've ever "scened" it was always so serious. For once i was able to laugh, giggle, joke, and just generally have a -great- time.

Part of it seems like a blur. Time just flew past so quickly. It was like wow, it's over already? As they say, time flies when you're having fun. While i am not one to "kiss & tell" as the cliche goes. However, hearing her girl-ish giggle from behind when using certain implements was quite a different experience. At the same time hearing and feeling the music running through my veins mixed with the endorphins being released... Ah! the rush! It gives me chills!

With that, i offer Her a very big thank you. I had more fun than i ever imagined. =D

How do you deal when you wake up and everything within you is calling for something you cannot get? When your inner being awakens and calls, feigning out for food. My monster inside, what i call my own personal Hulk, there are times it awakens. When it does, it rattles the cage of my outer being. It calls, growls, and it yearns to feel the cleansing of pain. You feel it, you try to ignore it, but it affects every part of your being. From your movements to your thoughts, even your aura. It's all affected by this need.

How do you deal? What do you do? Where do you turn? It is a mystery to me. I turn it into anger, into frustration and try to get it out other ways. But nothing is able to truly cleanse this internal wickedness like the cleansing kiss of pain. Nothing can quite compare to the rush and the relief you feel while feeding your inner masochistic beast. It's almost like the glow a vampire experiences after feeding. To finally relieve yourself of the weight of the world, which you carry upon your shoulders.

Let's get something straight here. First there are the definitions.

Dominate - Verb (A word that indicates an action)

   1. To govern, rule or control by superior authority or power
   2. To exert an overwhelming guiding influence over something or someone
   3. To enjoy a commanding position in some field
   4. To overlook from a height

Dominant - Adjective (A word that modifies a noun or describes a noun’s referent).

   1. Ruling; governing; prevailing; controlling; predominant; as, the dominant party, church, spirit, power.

As we can see, we have similar definitions. However, there is one startling difference. To DOMINATE is an ACTION. It is something you DO. To be DOMINANT is a description, it's something you are.

For example: "I'm a dominant person" NOT "i'm a dominate person." "I like to DOMINATE others." NOT "I like to dominant others."

Some of you may be reading this thinking "WTF?" I know, i often think the same thing when i read profiles of men and woman across the internet.

A while back i responded to a posting that posed the question "What motivates you to submit?" This was my answer to that question. I found it to be fitting for a journal entry.

"For some, it's not always about submission, per se. It can be about a cleansing of one's self internally. The releasing of stress, anger, sadness, and many other emotions that have filled to the brim in a flooded heart and mind... only to be released and emptied through tears brought on by the kiss of a whip, paddle, or other implement.

During those times, you're finally able to make the great escape you've longed and yearned for. You're able to finally lay that burden down, even if only temporarily, to feel true release from the weight of the world.

While for me, it is not a matter of submission. It's a matter of masochism. The love of the pain. The ability to wrap yourself in its sweet embrace while becoming consumed by the intoxication of the endorphins being released.

That's what it's about for me."

Ok. So it's been quite a while since i last added an entry. Alas, here i am for another rant. -grin-

The term "Domme" and the pronunciation there of. The correct pronunciation is that of "Dom" not "Dom-may" or "Dom-ee." In and around the lifestyle, you often hear the mispronunciation of the term. Maybe a little too often.

I've been called a grammar nazi before. That could very well be so. While i do realize no one is perfect, the "Dom-may/Dom-ee" thing just drives me nuts.

Now some may argue the pronunciation, that's fine. But let's take into account a similar word. The word "femme" is pronounced as "fem." It's the same thing.

So for those that are unable to pronounce it correctly, maybe it's time to relearn how. -smirk-

I rarely do this journal stuff. So here goes a rarity. Often times when browsing through this site, i see people proclaiming to be a "pro" others "non-pro."

My question is, what designates someone as a "pro?" Simply expecting a "tribute" does not make someone a pro. Is there a certification process? Is there a test or course to be an official Domme/Dom? Do you get a nice purdy framed certificate of Dom/me-ification? Now pardon my ignorance on this, but c'mon. I can't help but laugh about it.

I doubt many will read this, but for those that do, i look forward to a response that could possibly shed a little light on this question. Naturally, i mean no offense to those that may take offense. Generally, the only way to find out answers is to ask questions. So there we go.
