In my opinion D/s is about the fulfillment of mutual needs. Too many people have the idea that it is all about what the Dominant wants, and forget that the submissive also has needs. In addition to that, there needs to be a mutual respect for each other, and a willingness to communicate openly so that both the Dominant AND the submissive are complete.

Because like most people I live a very "vanilla" life, discretion is both expected and given. If your family or significant other wouldn't understand, they certainly won't hear about your deeply hidden secrets from me, because my situation is the same.

I'm not looking for 24/7 or "total control" of your life, but for me D/s is more meaningful if it is with someone I can get to know, rather than just a one time thing. Not to mention safer.
