Teal Tuesdays

From the moment that a student steps on campus to years after they have graduated, they are encouraged to wear teal on Tuesdays as a show of school spirit and as a way to connect members of Teal Nation, no matter where they might be.

CINO Day brings the fun to close out a great semester.

CINO Day

CCU's largest, carnival-like event held near the end of the spring semester. Students are able to enjoy free rides, games, food, giveaways, and more.

One of the first and last traditions for students while they are on campus, involves having their photo taken with the bronze Chauncey. Chauncey, the University's mascot, is cast in bronze at the entrance to the TD sports complex.

Through research and education, CCU’s local, state, and federal partnerships enhance South Carolina’s future by protecting our coastal ecosystems, advancing space exploration, and inspiring the next generation of innovators.

Sea Grant

Through our Sea Grant designation, CCU plays a vital role in coastal stewardship by conducting research and providing instruction on Waties Island, one of the last undeveloped barrier islands in South Carolina.

Our fleet of eight boats support advanced research in marine science, coastal ecology, and environmental monitoring, advancing CCU’s mission to explore, understand, and protect our coastal ecosystems.

Space Grant

As a member of the NASA South Carolina Space Grant Consortium, CCU supports interdisciplinary initiatives that inspire exploration, discovery, and leadership within the space sciences. The Space Grant Consortium strengthens STEM participation by expanding research opportunities, fostering collaboration, and promoting statewide access to NASA programs and resources.

ChantSat-1 Mission

As an initiative of our space program, The ChantSat-1 Mission is committed to enhancing space accessibility, education, and impact in the state. As the first Space Satellite Program in South Carolina, we are pioneering advancements in space technology and satellite deployment to address critical challenges facing our regional coastal communities in South Carolina and the Southeast.
