"content_html": "
It’s that time of the year again. How SHOULD the college football playoff look.
\n
It’s not all that dissimilar from the current playoff in structure. It’s just about how teams are selected and seeded. The TLDR is that all conference champs get in. The top 4 conference champs get byes.
\n
Admittedly it was a better format when we had a couple more high quality but smaller conferences. If you still had a functioning Pac-12, then Oregon would probably be in here too. Alas… conference realignment. Still I’m sticking to it.
\n
So first the conference champs
\n
\n
Indiana
\n
Georgia
\n
Texas Tech
\n
Tulane
\n
JMU
\n
Duke
\n
Boise State
\n
Kennesaw State
\n
Western Michigan
\n
\n
That leaves 3 at large spots. Ohio State is obviously the first one. The last 2 would go between Oregon, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M. At the at large spots, non conference scheduling is crucial.
\n
A&M played at Notre Dame and won. They’re in. Ole Miss and Oregon had pretty weak schedules. Ole Miss has the win over Tulane which is fairly big. But then has The Citadel, Georgia State, and Washington State. Oregon doesn’t have a win as good as Tulane. But they did have 3 recent power conference teams and a good Montana State team. Also extenuating circumstances…. Ole Miss lost their coach. So I’m giving it to Oregon.
\n
This is my world. So I’m gonna have some fun with it. Conference champs get seeded above at large. Didn’t win your conferences? Then you’re gonna have to go on the road.
\n
First Round
\n12. Oregon @ 5 JMU
\n11. Texas A&M @ 6 Duke
\n10. Ohio State @ 7 Boise St
\n9 Western Michigan @ 8 Kennesaw St
\n
Now because its my world and I’m having fun with seeding. Reseeding after the first round doesn’t make much sense. So it would look something like this…
\n
Second Round
\nWMU/KSU winner @ 1 Indiana
\nOSU/Boise winner @ 2 Georgia
\nTAMU/Duke winner @ 3 Texas Tech
\nOre/JMU winner @ 4. Tulane
\n
This playoff rocks and you can’t convince me otherwise. There’s a pretty big reward in being #1. You get to play the winner of the two worst conference champs. Winning your conference is VERY important. Making all regular season games and conference championships important. Every single team has an objective shot.
\n",

"title": "My favorite shows of 2022",
 "content_html": "
Station Eleven
\nYes I know this is cheating. Since it debuted and mostly aired in 2021. And I definitely would have included it on my list in 2021. But I just loved it that much. I’ve watched it repeatedly this year. It took a solid book and elevated it in so many ways. I just want to spend more time with Jeevan and Kirsten.
\n
The Bear
\nThis show is just perfectly in by wheelhouse. Food porn cinematography. The talented chef using his talents for dumpy styles of food. Men trying to process grief together but having no idea how. Stressful, emotional, AND hilarious.
\n
Andor
\nThis was probably my most anticipated show of 2022. And it lived up to the hype. The most terrifying representation of the empire I’ve seen. Tony Gilroy is good at this. I hope this is a lesson for Disney. Let talented creators cook.
\n
Reservation Dogs
\nThis show just continues to produce bangers. It’s hilarious. It makes me cry. That really tends to be the story of my favorite shows. I don’t know what else to say
\n
Severance
\nThis one intrigued me when I saw the previews. The first few episodes were a bit of a drag. But the stress I felt during that finale!
\n
Rings of Power
\nI used to be the almost anti Lord of the Rings member of my friend group. I found them just too long and boring. But something about getting older has made them grow on me. I read the books in the past couple years. And I think this show just captures the vibe so well. I love the Elrond & Durin relationship. The Brandyfoots grew on me episode by episode. This is another one of this were I just couldn’t wait to watch each new episode every week.
\n
Hacks
\nJean Smart is fantastic. Hannah Einbender is fantastic. They’re somehow even better together. Another great season.
\n
We Own this City
\nI’ll watch anything with Jon Bernthal. He’s just so magnetic. And so good as this type of charismatic but clearly awful character.
\n
The Sex Lives of College Girls
\nI love this show. I’m not sure season 2 has been quite as good as season 1, but it’s still a lot of fun. I know I love a show when I get excited to see it pop up in the Apple TV up next
\n
Peacemaker
\nThis show was just so unexpected. I didn’t watch the Suicide Squad so I knew nothing about the character. Jumping into the show was a little confusing, but surmountable. And it was just a lot of fun to watch.
\n
\n
The Rest
\n
His Dark Materials
\nThis one might sneak in still with a few more episodes left. I just want more Dafne Keen.
\n
Slow Horses
\nThe Old Man
\nTwo great spy shows. One very british and one very american.
\n
Minx
\nWinning Time
\nHBO adult fun. Minx is underappreciated and HBO Max dropping it is a crime. I will follow it wherever it goes.
\n
White Lotus
\nHouses of the Dragon
\nHBO prestige. I watched each every night it aired. But also found myself feeling like it was an assignment more than something I was excited about.
\n
The Ones I’ve Missed
\nThe Gilded Age
\nUnder the Banner of Heaven
\nPachinko
\nBarry
\nIndustry (I’ve tried, but the vibe of this show is just 🤮)
\nAtlanta (I don’t think I’ve watched the last 2 seasons)
\nBetter Call Saul (haven’t made it out of season 1)
\n",
