“Growing up on Vancouver Island, Camosun College was always part of the landscape, but I didn’t realize how much it would shape my life,” says Melanie Gagnon (Mikisew Cree First Nation). “I started in the Professional Cook Training Foundations program, convinced I’d found my future.”
Camosun College Mechanical Engineering Technology student Makayla Silvey has been recognized locally, provincially and nationally for her outstanding co-op achievements.
Arden chose Camosun after learning about it at a high‑school event, and a friend’s older sister said great things about starting Camosun. “I thought the sister was a rockstar, and she mentioned in passing about beginning a career at Camosun,” says Arden. “Also, some of my mom’s employees had taken the Human Resource Management program and adored it.”
