What Is Card Grading?
Card grading is the process of having a professional examine your card and assign it a numerical score based on its physical condition. Every card is assessed across four criteria — centering, corners, edges, and surface — and sealed in a tamper-evident holder that displays the grade. For collectors, a grade removes the guesswork from buying and selling: you know exactly what you have, and so does everyone else. For the hobby, it's the difference between opinion and fact.

Half-Point Grades
Please note that Beckett Grading Services provides final grades in half-point increments (i.e., 10, 9.5, 9, 8.5 etc.). Cards that are assigned a grade with a half-point increment typically share characteristics from both the level above and the level below the actual grade given.
