Blink RapidBus: Route 95 Langford/Downtown
The Route 95 Blink RapidBus launched on April 10, 2023, replacing the former Route 50. It provides a faster, more reliable connection between Langford and Downtown Victoria through more frequent service, bus lanes, and fewer stops.
Faster, More Frequent Service
During peak times, buses come every 7–8 minutes, and at least every 15 minutes the rest of the day. Service runs from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, Monday to Friday. As more people ride, service will continue to grow.
A New Look
You’ll know you’re at a Blink RapidBus stop when you see the bright orange signage. Larger branded stations, like the one at Douglas and Cloverdale, are being added along the route.

What Makes It “Rapid”?
RapidBus is designed to move more people, more efficiently. It:
- Makes fewer stops than local routes.
- Offers faster travel times and greater reliability.
- Uses bus lanes to avoid traffic.
Stops were carefully chosen based on ridership, spacing, and feedback from local partners. On average, Blink stops are 600 metres apart, closer than the industry standard of 800 m–2 km, to maintain convenience.
How It All Started
The idea for RapidBus began with the 2011 Transit Future Plan, which identified the need for faster transit along key corridors. This led to the 2021 RapidBus Implementation Strategy, outlining the first three RapidBus routes. Bus lanes on Douglas Street and the Trans-Canada Highway have already reduced commute times by up to 20 minutes.
BC Transit is developing the Victoria Regional Transit Plan, which updates the 2011 Transit Future Plan. This new plan will guide the next generation of transit investments across Greater Victoria, including future rapid transit corridors and infrastructure improvements.
BC Transit is also continuing to enhance Blink RapidBus infrastructure between Goldstream Avenue and Downtown Victoria, adding queue jumpers, expanding bus-only lanes and making further upgrades to Blink RapidBus stations. Rapid transit takes time to build, but every step brings faster, more reliable travel for everyone.
