Middlesbrough have signed full-back Finley Munroe from Aston Villa for £300,000.
The 20-year-old moves to the Riverside Stadium on a four-and-half-year contract, although Villa have a 30% sell-on clause.
He had been on a season-long loan with Swindon Town, where he played 27 games for the League Two side before being recalled by his parent club.
Munroe joined Villa from Chelsea in 2021 and made two substitute appearances for Unai Emery's side in 2024, while he had a season on loan in the Spanish third tier last year with Real Union.
"The size of the club speaks for itself," he told Boro's website, external.
"It's a huge club with aspirations of getting back into the Premier League and that attracted me, as did the fanbase and everything about it."
Munroe is Boro's second signing this month following the arrival of Leo Castledine from Chelsea after the midfielder had impressed on loan at Huddersfield Town.
