The government has announced that a new northern Hampshire unitary council will serve residents in Basingstoke and Deane from April 2028, in the biggest change to local authorities in Hampshire in 50 years.
Community and voluntary groups across the borough are set to benefit from more than £130,000 in funding, following the launch of this year's council grant scheme designed to provide more targeted activities, services and support for residents.
A new scheme that aims to drive up housing standards and strengthen support for residents has been launched by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
