May 2: Mark your calendars for our Secondary Art Show We are thrilled to invite the community to our Secondary Art Exhibition! The exhibition will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held at the Appoquinimink Community Library and will feature student artwork from all ASD elementary schools. The amazing artwork will remain on display through Tuesday, May 5, and can be viewed during scheduled library hours.

May 16: Instrument Walkabout We are excited to announce registration is open for current 3rd and 4th graders for the Appoquinimink School District Elementary Instrumental Program for the 2026-2027 school year!!! In celebration of our award-winning music education program, the elementary instrumental team will be hosting their 6th annual Instrument Walkabout from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 at Everett Meredith Middle School. AHS earns Launch Spotlight Award Citing the school’s dedication to diversity, equity, inclusivity, data-informed decision-making, and community engagement, Appoquinimink High School was recognized as Delaware’s Launch Spotlight Award recipient for Launch Into Your Future Month 2025. Announcing our 2027 Behavioral Health Professional of the Year!

Announcing our 2027 Behavioral Health Professional of the Year! Congratulations to Debra Taylor, who was announced as our 2027 Behavioral Health Professional of the Year during the April 14 Board of Education meeting! Taylor is a school counselor at Townsend Elementary School. She will represent our district in the statewide BHPOY competition. School counselors, school social workers, licensed clinical social workers, school psychologists, and school nurses are among those professionals eligible to win this award. Townsend Elementary School Principal Suzanne Street noted Taylor’s work to establish a mentorship program between fifth graders and younger students. Street noted, “It’s an amazing opportunity for our students to grow as leaders — thank you for everything you do.”

This event was held from March 30 to 31 at the University of Delaware and brought together students from more than 40 schools to demonstrate achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
