Installation and setup
Download the preview APK at the bottom of this page. Please follow the prompts during setup.
Note: Code on the Go requires the Android permission to display over other apps. Some phones, including Google Pixels, may restrict the permission so that you can’t enable it during installation. If you can’t enable a permission, follow these steps to resolve the problem:
- Open the device’s Settings.
- Navigate to Apps > Code on the Go, and tap the Code on the Go icon to display the app information page. (Your device may have a different name or path.)
- Tap the three-dot menu typically displayed at the upper right, and select Allow restricted settings.
- Verify your identity.
- When the process is complete, return to the Code on the Go setup page. You can now add the permission.
Using Code on the Go
No internet connection is required to use Code on the Go, and your device does not need to be online to write code or build apps. You can:
- Write, edit, and debug Android project code on your device
- Compile and build apps locally
- Manage projects offline
