Must Read book
Reviewed in India on 29 June 2026Most books about discipline tell you what to do. The Dopamine Discipline spends more time explaining why it's become so difficult to do it in the first place. Radheshyam More explores how constant digital stimulation, endless scrolling, and impulsive habits slowly chip away at our ability to focus, leaving us distracted even when we genuinely want to be productive. Instead of making the reader feel guilty, the book encourages small, intentional changes that can gradually reshape daily life.
What I appreciated most was its practical approach. Rather than chasing short-lived motivation, it emphasizes building routines, training your attention, and creating an environment where discipline becomes easier than distraction. The blend of neuroscience, mindfulness, and simple breathing practices gives the ideas a balanced, actionable feel without becoming overwhelming.
Whether you agree with every claim or not, the central message is difficult to ignore: your attention is one of your most valuable resources, and protecting it is a choice you make every day. If you're looking for a self-help book that pushes you to reflect on your habits while offering practical steps to improve them, The Dopamine Discipline is a worthwhile read.

Finding Focus in a Distracted World
Reviewed in India on 23 January 2026The Dopamine Discipline understands how hard it is to stay focused and motivated in today’s overstimulating world. It’s not just a how-to book; it’s more like a simple plan to help anyone feeling tired, distracted, or stuck in habits they want to change—especially around addictive behaviors like PMO. The tone is kind and understanding, never judgmental, which makes it easy to trust what the author is saying.
What really stands out is how this book mixes old wisdom from yoga and meditation with new science from the brain. It shows that true change isn’t about quick fixes but about understanding yourself and making small, real shifts. The author takes time to explain how overstimulation affects your brain and how you can slowly rewire it. The ideas are practical, not overwhelming—things you can start doing today to feel a little more in control.
The way the book is put together makes it easy to follow. Each chapter builds on the last, so it feels like a step-by-step guide rather than a bunch of confusing advice. It encourages you to take small steps—like changing a habit or shifting your energy—so that change feels doable, not impossible. The focus on turning lust into inner strength gives it a different vibe—more about growth and purpose than just abstaining or resisting. It’s about transforming energy into something positive.
The themes of self-control, healing, and finding your inner power run through the whole book. But it’s not about guilt or shame. Instead, it’s about understanding that everyone struggles with distraction and addiction, and that it’s okay to take things slow. It reminds us that healing is a process, and small wins are still wins. The author treats the reader with respect and kindness, which makes it easier to open up to new ideas.
The way the book is written feels very natural and friendly. It’s like talking to someone who really cares about your well-being. The language is simple and clear—no complicated words or tricky ideas—just honest advice that makes sense. It’s encouraging without pushing too hard, which helps make the journey feel less lonely and more achievable.
What makes this book relatable is how it talks about everyday struggles—being distracted, seeking quick hits of happiness, feeling stuck in habits you want to break. It shows that these struggles are common and that change doesn’t happen overnight. Instead, it’s about small, steady efforts to reset your brain and energy. It respects how hard that can be and offers gentle guidance to keep going.
In the end, The Dopamine Discipline isn’t about guilt or shame, but about hope. It’s about realizing that you have the power to change your relationship with your mind and energy. The author’s honest, caring approach makes it feel like an invitation to start fresh—step by step. It’s a book that understands the messy, noisy side of life, but also believes in the possibility of calm, focus, and inner strength.
This book is a kind reminder that even in a world full of distractions, you can find your way back to clarity and purpose. It respects the effort it takes to change and offers simple, real ways to get there. For anyone feeling overwhelmed by overstimulation and craving a little more control, The Dopamine Discipline might just be a gentle, helpful companion on that journey.

Adarsh3 out of 5 starsAmazing book but lots of repetition
Reviewed in the United States on 26 November 2025I would give 3 star not because the content but because lots of repetition. This entire book can be summarized in 1/3 of the book size. Chapter 6-8 are main crux of the book. The logic, content, tips, and guidance are really helpful and nothing is waste but everything is repeated at least 10 times in the book that make it a bit boring and less stimulating.
