Mission Of Vengeance: A CIA Espionage Thriller of Russian Intrigue and Covert Operations (Corey Pearson CIA Spymaster Series Book 1) (Corey Pearson- CIA Spymaster) Kindle Edition
Mission of Vengeance is a gripping CIA spy novel that plunges readers into real-world intelligence operations, geopolitical strategy, and modern counterintelligence warfare.
When an American family is brutally murdered at a luxury resort in the Dominican Republic, the President of the United States authorizes a covert response. CIA spymaster Corey Pearson is tasked with uncovering the truth—and eliminating those responsible—before the incident spirals into an international crisis.
The investigation leads to two former KGB operatives and a shadowy Russian operation designed to undermine U.S. power in the Caribbean. When one insider defects, Pearson gains access to critical intelligence revealing just how close the region is to collapse—and how little time remains to stop it.
Built on authentic spycraft, intelligence analysis, and real-world strategic decision-making, Mission of Vengeance pulls back the curtain on how modern intelligence wars are actually fought. Quiet surveillance. Political pressure. Strategic deception. Precision actions where even the smallest mistake can cost lives.
As tensions rise between rival superpowers, Pearson and his CIA team must outmaneuver a hidden enemy before retaliation ignites open conflict. Smart, tense, and grounded in realism, Mission of Vengeance delivers a high-stakes espionage thriller for readers who demand substance as much as suspense.

About the authors

Thank you for joining me on this journey through the shadowed world of global espionage in the Corey Pearson: CIA Spymaster Series. I’m grateful you’ve chosen to spend time in this world with me.
While these stories are works of fiction, they are grounded in years of ongoing interaction with the intelligence community. My affiliation with the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, along with countless conversations with retired and active U.S. intelligence professionals, has been invaluable. Those exchanges have helped shape Corey Pearson’s world and bring authenticity to the tradecraft, operational challenges, and moral dilemmas faced by intelligence officers.
I hope you find Corey Pearson’s latest mission as engaging to read as it was for me to write. Your support is what keeps these stories coming. If you’re willing, I’d truly appreciate your feedback after reading. Reviews help other readers discover the series, and they push me to go further and raise the bar with each new installment.
Thank you again for your support. Here’s to many more adventures with Corey and his team.
Until next time,
Robert Morton

About the Author
Researching and writing about the U.S. Intelligence Community is more than a passion for Robert Morton. It’s a calling.
A member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, Morton regularly participates in seminars and discussions with intelligence professionals in and around Washington, DC. These experiences inform his writing and drive his goal of creating an authentic and compelling spy thriller series in Corey Pearson: CIA Spymaster.
Morton consults with 27 intelligence scholars and field operatives, both retired and active, to ensure factual accuracy and realism. Among them is Harry Mason, a retired CIA officer with 35 years of service and recipient of the CIA Intelligence Medal of Merit and the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement.
His research has also included interviews with individuals connected to some of the most well-known intelligence stories of the modern era. One such source is James Marcinkowski, a former classmate of CIA operative Valerie Plame. Plame’s career and the undercover leak that inspired the film Fair Game provide valuable context for Morton’s work. Marcinkowski and Plame trained together at “The Farm,” the CIA’s legendary training facility, as detailed in Mission of Vengeance.
In addition to his fiction, Morton has written editorials and articles for numerous publications, including the Gannett Newspaper Network of Central Ohio, the Tallahassee Democrat, Coshocton Tribune, Zanesville Gazette, Fremont News-Messenger, Port Clinton News Herald, Ashland Daily Tidings, Lifestyle 2000 magazine, and California’s The Press-Enterprise, serving Los Angeles and San Diego Counties.
Through both fiction and nonfiction, Robert Morton continues to explore the hidden world of intelligence, offering readers stories grounded in realism, tension, and hard-earned insight.

A MC and Story for Lovers of Hardcore Espionage and Spy Thrillers and International Suspense
Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2023Robert Morton launches us into the action in "Mission of Vengeance," and keeps the action fast.
The setting is Santo Domingo. When an American family is murdered, after buying a tie clasp from a DVD bootlegger, CIA Station Chief, Corey Pearson, and his take-no-prisoners team fly in and get down to business. Their investigation rapidly escalates when Pearson et al make a direct link of the murders to the Russian embassy and to Russian President Putin.
Seeking "Obscure Transgression" level operation from the POTUS, Pearson gets it. OT level excludes the FBI from the investigation and, in addition, ramps up the interrogation by a man known as the "Oppressor," to a rough--and fatal--level for those who resist.
The opposition is in place in Santo Domingo and planning a terrorist attack that will discredit the U.S. in the Caribbean and lead to a mini- World War III--unless Pearson and his team can stop them.
Mission of Vengeance is a high-stakes espionage/counterintelligence thriller with all the Bond gadgets lovers of the genre expect. While the book needs a proofing for a few misspellings, it's loaded with action and reads fast. Morton's MC, Corey Pearson, is raw, real, and the authenticity of the details in "Mission of Vengeance" leaves no doubt the author knows his spy craft--and how to write about it in the most direct and entertaining of styles.
